Lauren Graham joins Studio 60

by Bob Sassone, posted Aug 31st 2006 10:10PM

Lauren Graham and Matthew PerryYup, yup, you read that right. Gilmore Girls star Lauren Graham is going to guest star on two episodes of the new NBC show Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. And here's the cool twist: she's going to play herself! She's going to be the "host" on an episode of the fictional variety show depicted on the show, and the two episodes will feature Graham dealing with the staff, going through rehearsals, and hosting the "show."

Hmmm...maybe that's why Grahm and Matthew Perry were seen together at a party before the Emmys?

Having seen the pilot for this episode thanks to Netflix, Studio 60 is definately on watch list. I'm wondering how well it will do up against CSI: NY, but if Medium (another show I like) can draw 12 million+ people on a weekly basis, I think this show can. It certainly has the buzz. Lauren Graham, a very Emmy-deprived and talented actress, has the perfect comedic timing for this type of show. She should fit in well with Perry, Whitford, Peet, and the rest of the cast.

I was able, through Netflix, to get the pilot for Studio 60 about 3 weeks ago. There's no doubt, it's an Aaron Sorkin show. And that's a good thing. Some of it was predictable but I figured that was largely due to it being, well, the pilot. It shouldn't take long to really pick up steam and hit its stride. At least that's the impression I got from the first show. Very engaging, with plenty of humorous moments. Definitely recommend catching it when it airs (or snagging it on Netflix if you can).

They have been best buddies for years. That's probably how they ended up doing the show together.

Thx for the great info! When does the show start? Fall 2006 is too vague!

Thx in advance,
Mike

I guess going on Celebrity Poker Showdown wasn't so bad for her career.
