Bob and Tom host stand-up special on Comedy Central

bob and tomFor years, friends and family have been telling me to listen to the Bob and Tom radio show, but I've never even tuned in to a single episode. The duo, Bob Kevoian and Tom Griswold, started their show in 1983 and branched out to other markets in 1995. I'm not sure where they fall among the big names in radio, but I know they have their fans. On September 16 the DJs will host The Bob and Tom Comedy Tour. The show will air on Comedy Central at 9 p.m. and feature comedians Greg Hahn; Roy Wood, Jr.; Drew Hastings; Bob Zany and Mike Armstrong, none of which I've ever heard of, and all of which have been on the Bob and Tom Show at one time or another. The special is also available for pre-order on DVD.

I went to one of the first incarnations of this show a few years ago featuring Drew Hastings, and Sean Morey - both of whom are excellent comedians and instantly became my favorites when I saw them live. I can't wait to see the special on Comedy Central tonight.

Seldom do I comment on media notices, but I'm compelled to resond to this one.
Having 20 years under my belt as a comedian, 5 network tv pilots, one of the few standing ovations on The Tonight Show, appearances on numerous standup cable shows, 3 one man shows to my credit in Los Angeles, and a rather large fan following, I am amused that you've never heard of me or my collegues listed with me. I'm going to go out on a limb and assume you're an L.A. or NYC based writer with typical chauvanism towards anything in the "flyover" States - any real estate between California and New York.

The Bob & Tom Special comics completely sell out comedy clubs in any market that carries the Bob & Tom Show. They're an amazing draw because of it. I've worked with Roy Wood, Jr., Drew Hastings & Bob Zany and they're all class acts, comedy vetrans and very very funny. Give it a watch.

Aw geez. It's Anderson, INDIANA. Not Illinois. Anderson is just outside of Indianapolis which is from where Bob and Tom broadcast. All of the comdedians on this special are hilarious, particularly Greg Hahn. I'd watch him over freakin' Bob Saget any day.
