FX picks up Eddie Izzard dramedy

Maybe you we're in the wrong frame of mind or something. Gotta go with the Izz. Dress to Kill is one of the funniest stand up routines ever, up there with Robin Williams Live!, Delirious and Richard Pryor Live on the Sunset Strip. Eddie is a genius and I'm on board with whatever he's involved with creatively.

"Dress to Kill" was great, there is no doubt about it. Some of the other DVDs have hilarious sections as well. He is not bad at acting (even though I've only seen a comedy role). I thought the Amnesty Int'l benefit's version of "The 4 Yorkshiremen" was great and I didn't even recognize him in that one, until I read that he was in it. Then, I had to watch it again to figure out which one he was (aside from Rickman, of course). Try youtube's selection of Izzard clips. You'll find a few that are amusing.

Dressed to Kill is in my "classic" book as well, to the point where my wife and I end up using phrases from it pretty regularly in day to day conversation. The televised version is a little shorter than the DVD, but we tend to watch it every time it is on. He had another show that we watched and weren't that impressed with, but have enjoyed all the others that we have seen.

Looks like you're in the minority here, Joel. I also like Izzard's work. Matter of fact I've got two of his shows on my DVR that I refuse to erase. I watch them whenever there's a TV void and I need some laughs.

I LOVE Eddie and try to see every film that he is in. His standup comedy is really funny and informative as well, especially Dressed to Kill. I am still trying to figure out if I like him better as a man or a transvestite. Congrats, Eddie.

I must say that I've seen Dressed to Kill, Glorious and Circle and I'm really looking forward to this series. If it can make me laugh half as much as I laughed when I watched his stand up shows, then it will really be a treat. He comes off as intellectual and funny.

I'll chime in with my love for "Dress to Kill," which I was lucky enough to see live and actually on stage (we were sitting in the wings and were there to provide more audible laughter as they were filming it), and will add that I saw him last summer at the Just For Laughs festival here in Montreal and my cheeks hurt after laughing so hard during the whole show. Can he do drama? We'll have to see.

Dress To Kill is one of the funniest things I have ever seen. And a friend of mine who speaks fluent French said it's even funnier in French.

Sorry you don't get him Joel, but he really is as funny as people say.

"Dress to Kill" is so good that I use it as a comedy litmus test on new friends.

Eddie Izzard was quite good playing Charlie Chaplin in "The Cat's Meow" the Peter Bogdanovich film with Kirsten Dunst as Marion Davies.

I'm quite curious to see this show, though if it's premiering in March it might mean the return of "The Shield" is being delayed until June, which would be a bummer.

I agree with Anna, Dress to Kill is one of my all time favorites.

I'll give this show a chance, I'm a huge fan of Eddie Izzard, and Minnie Driver, so it should be decent. Lets hope. lol
