UPDATE: Final HansoExposed joined clips! -- VIDEO

by Jonathan Toomey, posted Sep 9th 2006 4:31PM
The DHARMA InitiativeI posted about this just a little over two weeks ago, and it's already been expanded by Tim Dorr. He's the guy behind all these videos dealing with "The Lost Experience." Well, he's not exactly behind them, but he's the only one who's taken the time to go through all the tiny clips on the Hanso Exposed website and edit them together into a semi-cohesive storyline. For those of you who haven't been following along with all the Lost interactive online content (and I'm one of them), then this will certainly get you ready for the third season. Last time we only had 53 fragments and about four minutes of video. Now it's up to 70 fragments, six and a half minutes of video... plus an ending that I'm sure everyone will be commenting about. The video is after the jump.

I think there have been some statements by the creators that there's no time travel or time effects going on here, but I could be overgeneralizing (or misreporting).

But what about this video tells us it's definitely in the present day? I didn't see anything with a 2006 copyright on it.

I actually believe it was NOT made in the present day, because one has to wonder -- based on the last few seconds -- how this tape managed to get out. Presumably, some time would have had to pass during which the tape was destroyed, later found, reassembled...

All in all, it's refreshing to see a completely creative idea on television, especially bordering on the sci-fi genre. I see great opportunities for Abrams and the other creators, as do they no doubt, to build this into an entire franchise -- comic books, novellas, video games, possibly even spinoffs. (I can just picture the trailer now for "Dharma's Anatomy".)

Okay, what about this? Do we know for certain that time moves at the same pace on the island that it does in the "real" world? Even though we got off the island in the S2 finale, do we know that, even if it's been 60 days on the island or whatever, that time hasn't passed more quickly out in the world? Meaning, do we know that, even though it's 2004 on the island, it's not 2006 everywhere else?

so if the DHARMA is trying to get people to change the core numbers then that must be the others ? if not y are they on the island causing havoc.

Wow. Sounds like DHARMA isn't without it's nasty secrets. I wonder if there's anymore clips to be extracted. That clip just got a lot more interesting than it did previously.

Actually, they don't. This is entirely auxillary to what's going on on the island. Lost is about the survivors, not about the DHARMA Initiative. DHARMA just happens to be on this island, but the island is a whole story in itself that we've not even scrached the surface of. Look at The Monster and the foot statue for examples. That ain't some research scientists.

In addition, this from the present day, whereas the survivors are currently in 2004. So, it's not possible to see this, except for the part with Hanso. But even that is intended for off-island newbies to the program. They wouldn't have a copy on the island, because it doesn't apply once you're there.

So they totally have to play this during the season now at some point. How are just casual viewers going to get this video? Even people who haven't really been following this. This video holds some pretty crucial information too about the mythos of some major things in Lost.

I think this video would go sweet right before the first episode as a hook, with the title following it. No?
