Mike C.'s Fall TV Schedule
I guess I could just devote my evenings to MyNetworkTV's telenovas but that would be too easy. From the NFL, to New Caprica, Star's Hollow, the Sunset strip, Rockefeller Plaza, and west Baltimore, here's where I expect to park my butt this fall season:Sunday
5:15 pm (West Coast) Sunday Night Football (NBC). John Madden.
10 pm The Wire (HBO). The best ... blah blah blah, etc. (Actually, I'll most likely catch these earlier in the week On Demand.)
Monday
7:15 pm (West Coast) Monday Night Football (ESPN).
8:30 30 Rock (NBC). DVR. Alec Baldwin. This is a maybe. I'm hoping Baldwin will fall in love with weekly TV and sign-on as an SNL castmember once this is gone.
10 pm Studio 60 (NBC). Amazing cast. I take back my prediction this will be canceled early. There's hardly anything new this season that looks all that promising and they will have to keep something new on the air.
Tuesday
8 pm Gilmore Girls (CW). I love Lorelai; love her. What a dope that Luke is.
9 pm The Biggest Loser (NBC). Covering this for TVSquad. America's Next Top Model's can't model. Most American Idol's can't sing, and The Aprenti can't manage anything. But the majority of contestants in Loser's first two season actually lost weight and kept it off. A reality show that accomplishes something? That's crazy talk.
9 pm Lost (ABC). I drank the Kool-Aid. Only three more seasons to go. This is a show about life's deeper questions. Like, if any more castmembers get DWI's will they bring Michael back to shoot them? DVR, but only because my duty lies first with TVS.
10 pm South Park (Comedy Central). Now and forever, like Cats.
10 pm The Nine (ABC). This is a maybe. But if it is any good at all, I'll probably get sucked in and watch all the way to the finale to find out what really happened in the hostage situation -- only to find next to nothing is revealed. Thank you in advance, ABC.
Thursday
8 pm Smallville (CW). Covering this for TVSquad. And so far I've learned that there are a lot of Lana-haters in the blogosphere. Who knew?
8:30 pm The Office (NBC). Funny. DVR.
10 pm Shark (CBS). James Woods. I promised to cover this for TVSquad. Look for an early exit.
Friday
9 pm Battlestar Galactica (SciFi Channel). The other show that is often called the best show on television. Lucy Lawless is on board for at least the first 10 episodes, which leads me to think that the remnants of humanity will leave New Caprica and resume their star trek in the second half of the season.
11:00 pm Real Time with Bill Maher (HBO). The timeslot is right, and I usually find myself watching this without having planned to. Woohoo Friday nights!
Saturday
Dunno. SNL? Is there a Saturday Night Football? Maybe I will listen to sixty or seventy of my favorite Lost podcasts including Anna (of TV Squad) and Jason's.
