Annie's Fall TV Schedule
So busy. All the time. So much to do. Little room in schedule for TV. Not even funny. Too busy to even write full sentences. Alright, really, I don't have much time for TV. Between school and homework and trying to beat the daily crowd of starving students to the cafeteria so that I actually have some sort of substance lining my stomach everyday, I have no choice but to neglect my television. My days are rather unpredictable and hectic, but I'm usually free by 10. Usually. I always make time for The Daily Show and The Colbert Report, because Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert are my main men (and because I kind of need to watch The Daily Show... seeing as how that's my job and all), and Project Runway (it's the art school student's idea of watercooler talk fodder), but other than that, I don't religiously follow any other running show. There are some programs that I enjoy watching and try to catch as often as I can, but I don't really bother to tape them. Yeah. I said "tape". I'm such a cutting-edge youngster, with a TV/VCR combo set. Wanna see my Sega Genesis?
Sunday: I'll probably catch The Simpsons, but only if I remember to do so. It's not a show that I anxiously await every week, but I still enjoy it when there's nothing else to watch. And even when I've seen the newest episode several times on the Adult Swim Fix, I watch The Venture Bros. again when it premieres "for real" on Adult Swim. Yes, I am well aware that the ending doesn't change. Sunday nights are pretty much just a few solid hours of Adult Swim.
Monday: Heroes and Studio 60 both premiere on this day. I'll definitely be catching at least the first one or two episodes of each of them, but I have yet to fully decide whether or not I'll be tuning in every week. Impress me and I'll consider full dedication. Watching The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, some Frasier re-runs and a little bit of Late Night with Conan O'Brien every night is my way of telling my brain that it's almost time for bed. Hm. Maybe I need a new system. I'm usually up until about 3:00.
Tuesday: This used to be the night for me to kick back and catch some My Name Is Earl and The Office (yeah, I've warmed up to the American version), but then NBC decided that they wanted my Tuesdays to be angry and empty. They took the night away from me and threw off my groove. None of Tuesday's new Fall shows interest me, so I guess this will be my homework night. Fun will surely ensue.
Wednesday: I'm not quite sure if Project Runway will be over by the time that Lost premieres, but if it's still going, I'm going to have a really packed Wednesday night (from 9:00 straight until midnight). I remember that this was the case last year, but, back then, I didn't have to deal with The Colbert Report. Goodness, I may have to bump Stephen Colbert from my night. Kidnapped is a Wednesday show as well, isn't it? Crap. I promised myself to catch at least the first episode after I found out that James Urbaniak (Doc Venture from The Venture Bros.) portrays a hitman in the series. This promise has now been weakened and may be all together broken if I find myself struggling for time. Damn you, TV gods!
Thursday: Ugly Betty intrigued me, so I'll catch at least the first episode... well, I'll tape it. Same goes for My Name Is Earl and The Office. Stupid night classes interfere with my Thursday primetime. Education! Who needs it? And, of course, Jon and Stephen will round out my evening.
Friday: Nothing. Not even Daily Show or Colbert Report. Well, I guess I do watch something on Fridays, but it's not really on TV... I wander over to the AdultSwim.com Fix page and see what premieres are available. For my Fall Fridays, I'll probably watch a new episode of The Venture Bros. on the Fix and then any Harvey Birdman goodies they may have. Sigh. I remember when Friday night was my night for TV... but that was back when ABC had that TGIF line-up. I can't be the only one who remembers that.
Saturday: I'm still going to watch Saturday Night Live. It's not like there's anything else. Christ, why is that I have such an inactive TV life on the weekends, when I don't have any "real" things to do? I swear, the TV world is plotting against me.
