Leary to produce new sitcom pilot for FOX

Denis Leary on Rescue MeDenis Leary, who executive produces and stars in F/X's critically acclaimed Rescue Me, has a new comedy pilot in the works for FOX. The untitled pilot, which will be written by Don Reo (he co-created My Wife and Kids), focuses on a teenage thief who moves in with his grandfather. The twist? His grandfather is a thief too. No news about casting for the show was released.

Leary recently wrapped the third season of Rescue Me, but the show will return for a fourth season in spring 2007.

I just have to ask - what he hell is the fascination with theives for the last two years? I find them incredibly boring. I'm going to guess I'm not alone, given their success rate on TV so far. Plus, we already have THREE this season. Smith, the one formerly known as Robbing Mick Jagger and one more I can't remember. What is up with that??? Why not a show about arsonists, rapists or murders? Oh, because they are not GLAMOUROUS
