The Coreys are back

Corey Haim and Corey FeldmanTrust me, I'm really not making this one up. Apparently, A&E has ordered eight episodes of something called The Coreys: Return of the Lost Boys. The half hour show aims to update viewers on just what Corey Haim and Corey Feldman have been up to over the last twenty years.

The 'Arts & Entertainment' network has also ordered 13 episodes of Paranormal U. This show will follow a research group at Penn State University which studies and debunks paranormal phenomena. I could see myself watching this. I like that real world X-Files theme.

All this does make me wonder though, is it time for a name change for the network? With a slate that includes Dog the Bounty Hunter, Driving Force, Family Jewels, SWAT, Paranormal U, and,
The Coreys I'm just not sure A&E really represents the programming.

I agree with the assessment of A&E no longer being about the arts. Entertainment yeah, but they really lost what I felt was a great angle with some slightly more intellectual programming a long time ago.

I blame Biography. It used to be a great show with some valuable insite into the lives of historical figures, but when was the last time you saw an episode about Henry VIII or Benjamin Franklin (or even a Hollywood great like James Cagney)? You're more likely to see an update on the lives of such fascinating people as Pauly Shore or Howard K Stern.

Now the emphasis is all on the Entertainment and not at all on the Arts. Too bad. I really miss Pops Goes the Fourth and some of their other concert programming, especially during the holidays.

I was a Corey fan, mostly of Haim,...I still love LOST BOYS most of all...anyways, I spotted Haim at comic-con, I think it was last year, and was just surprised at his current look, not the cute pretty boy I once recalled...what ever he has been up to, well it proabably hasn't been clean living ;)

Just the other night I watched one of the classic Corey Feldman movies, The Burbs. And I can think of nothing more ridiculous than finding out what these two have been up to for the past 20 years. I'll tell you what they've been up to: Crack, Heroin, Pot, Extascy, Meth, ect.

I do like some of A&E's programming though. Mindfreak, and The First 48 are quality reality TV.
