Croc Hunter's widow says death footage won't air

by Anna Johns, posted Sep 27th 2006 9:17AM
terri irwinTerri Irwin sure is an admirable person. She recently gave an interview to Barbara Walters, saying that the footage of her husband's death will never make air. She hasn't seen the video herself, which shows Steve Irwin being stabbed in the heart by the barb of a stingray while filming a television special along Australia's Great Barrier Reef. Irwin tells Walters that no one should have to see it and I couldn't agree more.

In the interview, which airs tonight on ABC, Irwin also talks about how she and her family are handling their grief and what she was doing when she learned of her husband's death. It airs at 10 pm on 20/20.

But...why? I think in her interview she says, what purpose would that serve? I agree b/c we've all heard how he died, and it's a death that is horrible and not too hard to imagine....if you really wanted to.

I hope she'll change her mind, since lots of people are curious about how it happened. Disrespectful? Not for a guy who spent his life in front of a camera, and even said he wanted people to see him going down. He's probably the only person you can safely say that it won't be tasteless to show his death to the public.
