Another bad decision by MSNBC

by Bob Sassone, posted Sep 28th 2006 3:30PM

MSNBCFirst they introduced that "Doc-Bloc" at 10pm every night (oh boy, more shows about prisons and teachers who rape kids!), then they changed their on-screen graphics, and now they've made it very easy for me to watch CNN in the afternoon.

Rita Cosby is anchoring at 1pm.

Now, nothing against Cosby personally. I'm sure she's a nice woman and newsperson. But...her voice. I'm sorry, but there's no possible way that I can listen to her Brenda Vacarro-meets-Grover-from-Sesame-Street voice for two, three, four hours a day. I don't know if this is a permanent move or if she's filling in for someone, but if she's on, I'm watching CNN.

It's getting more and more clear that the only reason to watch MSNBC at all is for Countdown With Keith Olbermann, which has quickly become Must-See television.

I wonder if Rita has a medical condition that is making her voice so strained. I heard her recently on a Fox 9/11 special and on that day when she called in a report she wasn't as breathy.

I agree calling someone a monkey isn't very nice. But at the same time, I can understand Keith's frustration. Things have gotten out of hand, political dissent is being demonized left and right, what can only be called war profiteering is causing some members of the government to take money home in truckloads. There are key democrats that still feel like they lead the house & senate, and the administration just says whatever it feels like, knowing that the press will cover it with no regards for its truth or if it even makes sense.

So Keith has been doing what "free press" should do, and that is give factual evidence to support itself. He gets a little arrogant at times, but I can at least know that I don't have to logon to the internet after every "news" story to fact check what is being said.

I would like Mike to give just one(1) lie, bigoted comment, or hateful comment by Keith Olbermann. Just one. Just off the top of my head I can think of a few dozen uttered and recorded by O'Really, who I presume is his choice for talking-head news programming.

If you want self-absorbtion, hatred, bigotry, lies, over rated self-worth and nonsense, Keith Olberman is the source.

Fortunately, his ratings are so low, he is insignificant. Except on TV Squad.

PS, rita crosby is useless.

"She is not a nice woman. She's an evil, screeching harpy who is illustrative of the problem with cable news today."

No, that's Nancy Grace.

MSNBC get exhausted. They can't develop any good idea. MSNBC have nothing to do just leave the market

Finally someone else agrees about the dreadful "doc block"!

It was my understanding that when Rita's previous show was dumped there was intense negotiations for her to keep a presence at MSNBC. Uggh! I agree, CNN all the way until Keith.

Now what happens to Chris Jansing?

She should be behind the scenes. I HAVE to turn the station when she's on air. It's the same as commercials with the OXY Clean guy who yells all the time. I can't handle it and won't.
