Drawn Together comes back Thursday

by Adam Finley, posted Oct 2nd 2006 6:04PM
drawn togetherThe animated reality series Drawn Together returns for a third season on Comedy Central this Thursday at 10:30 pm. I've never been much of a fan of the show, and always felt like the subversive jokes and gags that make up an episode were delivered with all the subtlety of a machine gun shot directly into your face. I'm fine with humor that pushes the envelope, hell, I like it when the envelope gets torn to shreds, but Drawn Together doesn't allow itself anytime to breathe, to let the jokes sink in. I've also found the voice acting to be too shrill. However, if you're not like me and dig what the show has to offer, consider this your reminder that the show is coming back soon. Also, you can read an interview with the show's creators on the Comic Book Resources site (via Toon Zone).

Foxy vs the Board of Education wasn't funny? It was scathing. And a diabolical plot to distract afican american students with mint/grape flavored pencils? Outrageous.

Drawn Together is pure garbage.. Everything from the unoriginal characters to the storylines which revolve too heavily on gross gags, racist innuedos etc..It's hardly ever truly funny, and should have never come back for a second season let alone a third..

yeah, it is hard to describe why exactly i like the show, but there is something about how blatant everything is that you can't help but admire it. sometimes they miss the mark, but sometimes it's so right you can't stop laughing (Captain Hero, making up for lost time when he finds his parents, going to a kegger in a slutty dress and getting raped...). even from the names that clearly express the stereotype they represent, everything is layed out for you to soak up.
