Prison Break: Buried

by Keith McDuffee, posted Oct 2nd 2006 9:51PM
prison break(S02E07) OK, OK. It's been made pretty clear to me now by several commenters what "Bolshoi Booze" means. You can go ahead back to last week's post and read the comments there if you want to know -- I won't ruin it here for you.

So, it seems I was dead wrong about the Vet possibly being, er, not dead. Obviously I'm glad about that, as it just would've been incredibly hokey had he suddenly been alive. I am glad T-Bag's festering hand was finally brought up as "not taking." And the fact he didn't realize he'd wind up with an Asian hand out in Southeast Asia was Haywire-stupid on T-Bag's part.

Speaking of Haywire, you've gotta love his character. I really hope they don't hit a dead end with him, only to have him caught or dead before the season's over. Yes, it would be cliche if he wound up the only free man with all the money at the end, but god would it be funny.

Lincoln deserves to be caught. All along he's been the guiltiest looking, irrational person of the bunch, and thankfully Michael just let him go this time. Yes, I know family can make you do irrational things, but this last act was beyond stupid.

Is it just me, or does that look like one hell of a lot of money for just one man to carry, let alone the huge hole it was buried in. It took, what, four guys to dig that hole for a whole day to finally land on it?

It didn't take much to realize where Mahone was going with Tweener, as unstable as we've seen up up to this point. Mahone is clearly the best thing about the season. The character is a complex one, and it's just interesting to learn more about him in every episode. And now we know he's much more of a danger to Michael than just being sent back to prison.

Damn, I wan't expecting 2 deaths! Poor Tweener, atleast he got to see Debra Jean again. This twist in Mahone's character has changed everything, they could really take his psycho-ness in a lot of directions.

I was quite disappointed last week, but this one has renewed my faith.

If anyone's interested, I have just posted a quiz for this episode. I have made it easier than last week's but its still pretty challenging.

enjoy :D

Mahone's not complex. They had to have him kill Tweener, otherwise we'd be rooting for him to catch the bad guys.

I was VERY disappointed to see Mahone shoot Tweener in cold blood. Why couldn't he be the one character who was actually sort of a "good guy" -- not tied to the Big Conspiracy, just hooked on drugs, haunted by his past, and maybe kind of rough on getting Abruzzi killed? Why go and make him a cold-blooded killer, too? It just wasn't right. When he said that "they" had a problem with him, did he mean the Conspiracy people, or the demons in his head? Not clear. And if he's taking the drugs, why go psycho?

This show has got a high body count. Also, I didn't buy Kellerman suddenly becoming a human being and being concerned about Sarah getting killed.

Are Bellick & his buddy still tied up somewhere? They're gonna be awfully mad when they're let loose.

I've got to be honest with you, I'm damn pissed off. I just finished watching Prison Break and I came to this site to see what others thought and the review. Before I get back to my DVR to watch Vanished, I read the comment that gives away the incredible, mind-blowing twist! Why would anyone feel the need to write that here for anyone interested in the show to see? Surely at least a spoiler alert is in order?!

Either way, it's not going to make the surprise new for me.

I think its the best episode this season so far, no one mentioned sara here, i am pretty sure that the FBI guy will come and save her, which will be a huge twist of events in my opinion.

I agree with Gordy. This show just couldn't be that predictable. If LJ was bait for Linc, then Linc was bait for Mahone. Besides, there's just too many cooks, for 5 millions dollars. Splitting is just the start.
Too bad for Tweener. But there's some redemption for him.

I seen a face-off between Michael and Mahone, as far as Linc/LJ thing is concerned. The plan is not as superficial as it seems - i hope!

To expand on some Wil's and Cross's points, I was really hoping less people would have died this year. It sounds strange, I know, but from the start of the series most people thought that they would break out of prison, and eventually expose the president for the entire energy scandal / secret government that exists -- and they would be set free.

Speaking of which, where did that entire plot thread about the secret "government" go?

Anyway, I cannot think of any logical outcome to the series that would vindicate our "heroes", because at the end of the day, Michael's plan ends up killing a hell of alot of people and hurting so many more.

So to stop the execution of his brother, Michael has indirectly killed: His brother's ex-girlfriend, his nephew's parents, the governor of Illinois, the president of the US, three prisoners, an Indian doctor, maybe some little girls father (from t-bag), a FBI/Secret Service Agent, a death-row social working and maybe a few more I cannot remember.

So basically, Michael traded his brother's life for at least 12 other people. The fact that some of these people might have been bad people, it doesn't excuse Michael's actions.

This is my biggest problem with the show. The first season was great, because it pitted the "big bad prison" against one of the brightest guys on earth, but it all honestly; I think the writers didn't have plans for Season 2+ until this year.

Hopefully the 2nd half will return PB to it's 1st Season glory, but I doubt it.

Cross, Mahone's story isn't going to be that Tweener had a gun, it's going to be that Tweener managed to get *his* gun, forced him to pull over, and made him start walking away from the car at which point Mahone shot him with his backup piece. The gun Mahone planted on Tweener was the gun he drew at Tweener's girlfriend's house.

It doesn't matter that he doesn't have gunshot residue on his hands, he doesn't need it. Mahone won't say he fired it, there's plenty of justification in an escaped convict stealing an FBI agent's gun and using it to get away.

Finally, I doubt that Mahone is working directly for the President as the Secret Service guys clearly are (i.e. he doesn't care about finding Lincoln more than the others). That said, I do find it semi-interesting that Mahone has indeed killed the two cons he caught. Perhaps there is a twist in there somewhere...

I think the show just "jumped the shark". I agree a bit with you Will..

I can see someone killing the Governer and getting away with it. They made it look like a suicide, he was under a lot of stress.(Your not seeing the new Pres because the actress left the show. The "hitman" is either CIA or Secret Service not a hitman.)

I don't see how the FBI guy gets away with killing tweener. He had been searched, went in and the out of a police/FBI station(through metal detectors) and cuffed and the agent decides to drive off with him, alone (what happened to all the other cops?!?!?!?) and shoots him against the passenger side of his SUV, and plants a gun. Tweener has no GunShotResidue and no real history of violence. No way would he keep this manhunt. He's killed both of the guys he has gotten close too. The crooked President wants these guys caught so they can execute Linc.

It took D.B. all day to bury the money. He spent 12 hours doing it(as shown by his gassing up twice that day), before a concrete slab was laid over the money. It does seem alot for him to have stolen however..According to the internet he had 200,000 in $20 bills which weighed 21 pounds. So 5 million would be about 500 pounds!

One more thing...Vanished is a good show. Since when did you guys start demanding Fox dramas be based in reality? It's right there with Prison Break and 24 with the reality distortion. Cover it already.
