Farrah Fawcett has cancer

by Joel Keller, posted Oct 5th 2006 7:02PM
Farrah FawcettNot sure how this story didn't catch my attention sooner: yesterday, representatives of Farrah Fawcett announced that the former Charlie's Angels star has been diagnosed with colorectal cancer. Fawcett is currently undergoing radiation treatments in preparation for surgery and chemotherapy. According to Extra, she is apparently trying to keep a normal routine, as the show documents the fact that she worked out with longtime boyfriend Ryan O'Neal on Monday. But I'm sure she's freaking out a little about what she's about to face. I sure would be.

The article goes on to point out that Fawcett was the spokesperson for the American Cancer Society in the 1980s. Her older sister died of lung cancer eight years ago.

What can I say about this recent diagonosis that has confronted Farrah. She is the epitome of a Hollywood star and I have loved her for over 25yrs. I have every People magazine cover she has ever appeared on, I wish I didnt have this most recent one. God Bless her.

I was raised on Charlie's Angels and have followed Farrah's career through the years. She is a beautiful person and has been hounded through the years of how she is losing her looks. She is still beautiful in the eyes of her fans and I am praying for a speedy recovery. I cannot imagine a world without Farrah Fawcett and pray for her everyday.

I have never cared for Farrah Fawcett. i have known people who have worked with her and she is not a nice person. however, i feel very sorry for her being diagnosed with colon cancer. Through all the years of viewing this woman as a stuck up person and very phony, I now wish her all the best. it is terrible to see someone very full of life and beauty, and so capable, being shot down due to sickness. i say God bless her and i hope she recovers.-

My husband has been fighting Stage 4 colorectal cancer for 29 months. The reason that I say "29" instead of "a couple of years" is because with his cancer, the median life expectancy after diagnosis is 20 months. Every added month is an achievement and by God, and because of God, we celebrate every one! If Farrah's was caught early enough, her prognosis can be very hopeful. My prayers are with her and her family.

My dad died of colon cancer. It's an ugly way to go. I'll be praying for her.
