Battlestar Galactica: Exodus, Part One

(S03E03) As many people made note of last week, the previews for this week's episode basically gave away the fact that Roslin lived through whatever happened during the end of the first episode, as the Cylon toasters approached the group of humans in firing squad form. But at the same time several of you were willing to believe that anything could have happened to cause her to live through such a thing.
In true Battlestar Galactica form, we start with a flashback to one hour earlier. Just from that alone you know things didn't go down as simply as they appeared at last episode's end.
Here's the thing with Sharon and what I said about her possibly causing that ambush. In the last episode we didn't see her with the rest of the landing party, so really if you didn't know for sure, she could have possibly been a Cylon spy put into place when following the map that was stolen. Well anyway, I thought it was possible at the time.
It definitely seems to be a good idea to capture the Cylons and disable them rather than kill them outright. Then they don't have a chance to make it to "download city" (love it). But really, how many Cylon "souls" are there? We know how many models, but I don't recall if they ever mentioned how many of each model there are.
Sorry, but I've got to add this in -- I don't think I'll ever get sick of seeing the near naked body of Number Six (Tricia Helfer), from any angle. Imagine this show on a pay cable station like HBO? Humina.
Some commenters thought Starbuck's sudden change of heart toward her "daughter", Kacey, was just a trick to gain the trust of her Cylon "husband." Then why was she still showing apparent caring for the child with no one else around to witness it? Seems to me she had true feelings for Kacey.
It's especially interesting that Cylons can have dreams. With them essentially being machines, what could that mean, that they can dream? I feel like I should say something about Blade Runner now ... Anyway, I found it odd that they could dream.
Maybe some of you readers with some military background can let me in on that whole line of salt that everyone gathered around on Galactica and then scattered around with their feet. Is that reminiscent of something that really occurs before battles? I know the line symbolized separation due to their enemies, with them scattering the line to show their intent to destroy that barrier. But it seemed as though based on something from our history. Or maybe it was just something cool the writers made up.
It sounds like the more a Cylon gets downloaded back to a new body, the more painful it becomes. I'm sure this is something that will come into play in some later episode, as the Cylons may actually become more afraid of being killed not from the fear of not being near a download area, but from the pain of the download process.
Finally the rescue mission is just about upon us, and I can tell you I think it's everything you'd hope it will be and more.
As Racetrack so perfectly put it: "It's on."
