Sam Raimi developing horror/reality series for CW

by Adam Finley, posted Oct 14th 2006 7:59AM
sam raimiHere's the question I now have to ask myself: if Sam Raimi, a director who has made some of my favorite films of all time, decides to produce a reality series, a genre I despise and always avoid, what do I do? What, oh what, do I do? Hopefully I'll find out soon, because that's exactly what he's planning, along with his old producing partner, Robert Tapert. The duo are creating House of Horrors for the CW network, a reality series in which contestants will live in a house where they must face their fears, with contestants being killed off (not literally) in cool ways. Raimi did not come up with the concept, the show is actually the brainchild of Gunnar Witterberg. Raimi and Tapert are on board as executive producers, however. The show could possibly hit the airwaves by next summer.

During the time when I had GSN I loved Russian Roulette, but what I really want to know is whether Tappert's wife or Raimi's brother will be involved in this project.

Here are two clips of the bonus round from Russian Roulette. (Sorry, nobody drops.)

Gunnar Witterberg? Now I have to watch. For those who don't know, Gunnar is the creater of one of the greastest game show concepts ever: Russian Roulette. Never saw is when it was on GSN? Well it's simple. Four (or five) contestants, answering questions. Get it wrong, you have to play Russian Roulette (which gets increasingly harder to win). Rather than shooting themselves, the contestants merely fell down a hole. Seriously!
