CBS News veteran Christopher Glenn dead at 68

The passing of Christopher Glenn is so sad for me personally as well as for millions of listeners who practically grew up with him and came to admire his unforgettable voice and journalistic professionalism. He was a real gift and a rare talent. Thank you, Christopher Glenn, for being a big part of our lives for so many years.

Christopher Glenn passing away was in a way heartbreaking. Though I have not heard his voice for many years, when it was aired of his passing it made me stop and watch the news. It must have been the music introduction, when you hear that music, you will never forget it. Just hearing that music made me want to watch the news.
Does anybody know if that particular music is available to download, or purchase? If you know of a way please pass it on here.

Christopher Glenn went Home to be with the Lord. It was very unexpected. He will be known forever to the ages as the announcer of "In the News" between Children's shows on Saturday Morning. One or some episodes were aired on TVLand. I saw several episodes of "In the News" on the Internet on youtube.com (the episodes on youtube.com no longer exists due to legal reasons.) In the News has been off the air for 20 years. I do not think it will be new episodes. Christopher Glenn's voice be heard almost every time in "In the News." God bless him and his family.

It is always difficult to note the passage of a peer...especially one who was so respected in the profession. Broadcast journalism benefited greatly from from the style and abibility of Christopher Glenn. Those of us who spent many years as correspondents and anchors should be thankful for the years Glenn spent as one of us.

This came as a real shock. Like another said, his voice is a "nostalgic trigger" from my childhood that I can hear now. I'm surprised he was so young when he did those children's news breaks, I pictured him older then but he was my age now and younger. Thanks Mr. Glenn!!

Hearing his voice now would definitely make for an instant flashback to my childhood. Those newsbreaks helped me care about what was going on in the world.

I loved his voice! I do remember him from In the News, which I thought was one of the best parts of Saturday mornings. So sad, he wasn't even that old. Rest in peace.

I was another of those kids who remembers Mr. Glenn on Saturday ayem fare. I can also remember the precursor to his newscasts... "In the Know" hosted by the animated Josie and the Pussycats. While Chris Glenn was not as, erm, animated... he was my first introduction to real news. He will be missed.

Damn. I grew up with those "In The News" spots and every time I heard Mr. Glenn's voice on a CBS News report on the radio I couldn't help but remember those Saturday morning spots. His voice was one of those "nostalgic triggers" for me, like a smell or a song or a place that brings old memories flooding back.

I will miss him.
