Does Martha Stewart give her audience food?

by Bob Sassone, posted Oct 18th 2006 12:45PM

Martha StewartIf you're a regular watcher of Martha Stewart's daily show, you might be able to help me with this.

After she cooks her food, does she give any of it to the audience? I ask this because I know that Rachael Ray gives members of the audience the food that she is making, or at least gives them to her guests (the shows are on at the same time here in Boston and I like to switch between the two, to see the controlled tension of Martha and the absolutely hyper chaos of Rachael). Emeril gives his food to his audience, and The View always seems to have some kind of snack food for their audience since Rosie joined the crew.

I'm wondering if Martha gives the stuff to her audience or wraps it up and takes it home. Martha seems to make just once specific item (a dessert or a side dish), while Rachael makes a meal. Anyone know?

LOL @ Melissa's post. I think she gives one bologna sandwich and an apple.

I have been to several tapings of MARTHA. When you arrive there are pastries for you to eat, and drinks. When they cook in the studio, the people in the test kitchen (love you Wes and Angie) make food for the audience - no finger licking. The extra that is made ON AIR then is finished and given to people who work and clean the set. I have been fed by Robin Williams, and eaten many a delicious dessert from the show.

I attended a taping, and I don't think they usually pass out the exact same thing that Martha makes onstage. When I went, she made a cake, and then every audience member got a similar cake when leaving the studio.

I think if you look at how much food they cook and how much they actually "give away" it would be astounding. It's as bad as these shopping networks on TV that cook food and eat only a few bites..I bet they throw most of it away.

I attended a taping of Martha and she does feed you but it BEFORE the show. Once you checked in there is Vitamin water and pastries for all.

I used to work at a local bakery that occasionally supplies her with pastries and desserts for events. More than once there were orders of several thousand small desserts/pastries/whatever that passed through there for the guests and audience.

i have watched some of martha and to tell you the truth if i was an audience member i wouldn't want any of the food cause i have seen more than once the guest helping her lick their fingers and put them right back into the bowl. YUCK!!!!!!! i don't even do that with my kids and they came out of me.

If I were a guessing woman, which I am, I would say that Martha provides each audience member a lunch sack containing: one boullion cube, one concord grape, one philly cheesesteak, and a jar of garlic pickles (with a tight lid). No matter what the occasion.
