Here's a reminder for the three Kidnapped fans left

KidnappedI kid, I kid... despite Kidnapped's lousy ratings, it did attract about seven million viewers (if this show were on cable, it would be a smash hit), so I'm sure a lot of people will appreciate this reminder: the show returns in its new Saturday at 9 timeslot on October 21, which is this coming Saturday (damn, where is this year going?). It'll pick up with the fourth episode; recall that at the end of episode three, Connie Cain had beaten an old neighborhood "friend" -- and Irish Mob boss -- at his charity ball, and Knapp saved Ellie from harm after a friend of Aubrey's got wind of the kidnapping and tried to use it to his advantage.

Anway, the reason why I'm putting up this reminder is that Kidnapped is a quality show, and since it's going to be on for the next ten weeks -- the producers were told to wrap things up in 13 episodes -- on a night when nothing else is on, it's perfect fodder for Sunday afternoon DVR-watching. That's what I'm going to do, at least. Maybe it'll actually get OK ratings on Saturday... uh, maybe not.

Kidnapped was great Tv, I was so hooked when I saw the first two episodes, and then "POOF!" It vanished fromt the schedule and I couldn't find it. No ads telling me where it went, I had to look it up on the web to see that it was moved to Saturdays. My tv guide on my cable would list Wednesdays as the night for kidnapped(and indeed, if you look at the kidnapped NBC website, it is still listed as a Wednesday show), and then I would look in ernest and not find it anywhere. It would have developed a good loyal fan base if given a chance, but NBC seems to have really weird programming these days. It's as if the guys at the top have all fallen alseep! Hey wake up! This is a good show worth saving!!!!

Is this show available online anywhere so I could catch up? I would likely watch it to see if I like it, and then I'd watch on Saturdays. It came at a time when so many other shows started, and I missed the beginning. Why isn't anyone else copying ABC's online format?

I finally watched the first three episodes the other week and this isn't a bad show. I just hadn't gotten around to watching it. I was tempted to just delete them when I read about the show being reduced to 13 episodes. It's not the best show of the season but it's not bad.

Thanks for the reminder, Joel! I do love this show, and it is depressing to realize the truth of your statement: that if it had been on cable, it would have been a hit.

I think cancelling this show, and not giving it a chance to find an audience, is one of the great boneheaded moves of the NBC bigs.
