Ask TV Squad: What of North Shore, Summerland and Clubhouse?
Reader Diane really enjoyed the series North Shore, and she wrote to us wondering, where oh where did that show go? And what about Summerland? And Clubhouse?
I'll tell you, Diane. they're all dead, and nothing will ever bring them back. They're deader than the love child of the Grim Reaper and a zombie being born backwards into the womb of a vampire with a stake through the heart. They're even deader than my ability to come up with a coherent metaphor to describe how dead they are.
Clubhouse, a CBS series featuring Dean Cain and Christopher Lloyd about a young boy realizing his dream of becoming a bat boy for the "New York Empires," was canceled in 2004 after only five episodes. Summerland, a WB drama starring Lori Laughlin of Full House about a fashion designer who must take care of her sister's three children after she's killed in a car accident, ran for two seasons before being canceled in 2005. North Shore, one of too many twenty-something ensemble dramas, was set in a luxury hotel in Hawaii, and was also canceled in 2005 after airing for one season on FOX.
