Cheryl Burke talks about Dancing tour, Emmitt Smith, and Paris Hilton

Cheryl Burke of Dancing with the StarsOur dear, dear friends over at AOL Television have an exclusive interview with Cheryl Burke. You're probably scratching your heads at this point, wondering who the heck Cheryl Burke is. Well, you may not know her by name, but you certainly know her by her moves, especially if you are fan of ABC's Dancing With the Stars. Over the last two seasons Cheryl has shimmied across the dance floor with celebrity performers. Last year she was paired with Drew Lachey and this time around she is partnered with Emmitt Smith.

In the interview, Cheryl breaks the news of an upcoming Dancing tour. While there is nothing confirmed as of yet, Burke says there will be at least six celebrities and their professional dance partners on tour. Additional dancers will be hired to fill spots in the two-hour show where the celebrities are not performing. On the subject of celebrity partners, Cheryl says she has had great luck with the people she has been paired with and let's us know what the differences are between Lachey and Smith (While Emmitt has more rhythm, dancing came easier to Drew, who had a musical background).

Also discussed during the interview is the recent flare-up between former Dancing contestant Shanna Moakler and Paris Hilton. For the unaware (or the uncaring), Hilton alleges Moakler attacked her at a L.A. nightclub after she found Paris with her estranged husband, Travis Barker of the band Blink 182. Burke says it wasn't true. In reality it was Stavros Niarchos, Hilton's ex, who pushed Moakler down some stairs and threatened to hit her. Got all of that? There will be a quiz later.

The full interview with Cheryl can be found at this link.

Jim, you take offense way too easily. Most people, even football players, are not paid for talking in front of cameras each day, and you just have to cut them some slack.

I am glad Emmitt won. Do I think he is a better dancer than Mario? Well, I'm not sure. But I do think Emmitt had way less dancing experience than Mario when he first came on the show. I do think that he and Cheryl had a more professional relationship than some on the show. I do think Emmitt is a better role model, at least in this exercise, for my kids.

This is an amateur competition. There is no great money to be got here. I am so glad that Cheryl is being offered many opportunities because of her exposure here, and I hope she takes the right ones and has the right people guiding her in her career. I am not a fan of the dance, but even in the first season of Dancing . . . there was something magical that stood out about Cheryl that the others did not have. She emits a fair and kind and gentle personality, things not often found in competitive situations. She does not seem 'full of herself' the way many other do. Neither does Emmitt.
I am glad that they won and wish them the best in their future endeavors.

First of all, I would like to personally congratulate Emmitt, Cheryl, Mario and Katrina for making it to the Finals. This has been the toughest competition yet. Emmitt is a true champion and conducts himself with class on and off the field. It is no secret that Walter Payton was Emmitt's biggest influence especially since Emmitt emulates Walter Payton in everyway possible. I admire Emmitt very much for that. Cheryl Burke, what can I say about her? Besides being beautiful and drop dead gorgeous, that woman can dance! If NOBODY knew who she was before, I guarantee she is on her way to stardom. Mario Lopez, that man is not only a ladykiller, he is one hell of a dancer. I would like to make a statement and you heard it from me first. This message is for all the movie studios and directors in the movie industry. My advise is to do another remake of Saturday Night Fever and cast Mario Lopez in the lead role of Tony Manero while he's still in his prime looking good. In the long run, millions and millions of dollars are guaranteed to be made from this and I will be in the theatre watching women take off their underwear and throw them at the screen. What can I say about Katrina besides being beautiful and being one hell of a dancer herself. I understand that she is the number two ranked dancer IN THE WORLD! Katrina definitely earned that rank. If Katrina keeps this up, I see Katrina being the number one dancer in the WHOLE WORLD. GO KATRINA! Being a hard core Dallas Cowboys fan, I would love to see Emmitt and Cheryl win it all and Cheryl win 2 years in a roll, but I see Mario and Katrina winning it all. Mario and Katrina are just too damn good.

Emmitt is still on the show because because all of us are watching Cheryl - WOW!!! I have had enough of Emmitts show-off irrogance. He is one of many good football players and only made it because of the talent God gave him. The professionals on the show are much better dancers than Emmitt is football player & under more stress. He owes the "men" of the world a big oppology for saying he proves a man can dance. What makes Emmitt think he is a "man" and the others on the show aren't. Wonder what a guy like Audie Murphy would have thought if he had been standing beside Emmitt when he made that remark. Lots of good football players sure aren't "men"! And lots of "men" aren't big, black, and football players. I don't believe I have ever heard a male stand in front of an audience and brag about being a "man". I can look over Cheryl saying that because she probably doesn't know what a "man" is. And Emmitt in no way compares with the other two guys on the show that are still dancing.
