Men in Trees: Ladies Frist

(S01E07) The writers switched things up a bit this week and I was happy for it. Instead of tension between Ben and Teresa, it was between Sara and Teresa. And, Marin had her sister to contend with, rather than anything Alaska-related. Even Patrick and Annie had a different storyline this week, in which Annie took a back seat.

Does anybody believe that Buzz is Patrick's father? How is that even possible? How many people did Patrick's mother sleep with? He's a 26-year old man who believes his father is still alive, even though the man obviously died in a plane crash in the Alaska bush before Patrick was born. I pretty much guessed what Patrick's mother was hiding from him, which she said could make things better or worse. I'm almost positive that he's still pissed off at his mother for lying to him about who his father is, so that's a storyline that could stretch for a few episodes and make for some bonding between Annie and his mom (although, I like how the mom treats Annie poorly- it makes for some good comedy).

Marin's story was also good- and identifiable. Her sister, Liza, came to visit and to share a birthday party that the town was throwing for Marin. I knew that, after all of Marin's frustration with Liza during the episode, they would talk it out and make up in the end. That's just how these stories go. What I didn't see coming was the sweet, affectionate relationship growing between Marin and Jack. For one whole episode, they were friends, but then Jack went and kissed her. And, my God, he's yummy! The strong, silent type is a good type to be!

Finally, Teresa moves into the hotel and the tension rises between her and Sara, who is sleeping with Ben. That storyline was actually kind-of weak and forgettable since it had a really simple ending when Sara tended to Teresa's sprained ankle. I'm interested to see where Teresa goes from here. Will she try to win Ben back? Will she leave?

Next week: a search party for Patrick in fake-looking wilderness.

I LOVE this program! Having just read that there is a Sex in the City writer on board with this show, I know I'll continue to be entertained from the beginging to the end! Who knew channel surfing could yield such wonderful things...

What was the song that was playing when Marin and Jack were going into the closet together? We can't remember it. If I heard it again, I'd know it, but can't download the video.
