VIP Passport shows viewers the good life

by Adam Finley, posted Oct 21st 2006 2:02PM

vip passportVIP Passport, a new late night series that kicks off November 3 in select markets features a group of folks from various reality series flying to some of the hottest night spots around the globe and having the time of their lives while kicking back with famous photographers, artists, designers, musicians, and whatever vapid hair-gelled meat puppets the producers decide to throw into the mix. Bored viewers who tune into the show will also be given the chance to win a new car every week, details of which can be found on the show's site, which will launch later this week along with a schedule and channel listing. The idea for the series came to the three producers, Larsen, Julien Lecomte and Dax Lugo while watching old videos of past parties at Hugh Hefner's Playboy Mansion. I think the point that may have escaped them is that they were actually in the Playboy Mansion at the time, which, you know, may have added to the enjoyment just a little bit.

I found it funny that the little bit that I watched showed these reality folks in what was supposed to be some swanky VIP club, yet it was nothing more than a set on some sound stage! It was the episode where they were learning about champaigne tasting from some guy and where there was a fashion show. They also went to some spy-ware shop so they could spy on someone. It is so obvious that nothing about the show is real. It is completely scripted, and the script writing is atrocious! Take a bad concept created by retards, write a really bad script, create phony sets, put in the worst "actors" (my apologies to all the academy award winning real actors for lumping these reality "stars" with you!) possible, and you have a show that is actually aired on TV. I weep for our nation. I think that American TV has finally jumped the shark.

I don't know what is worse, the fact that some morons approved the go ahead with this show or the fact that some morons would watch more than 5 minutes of it. I was channel surfing, came upon this just after a commercial ended, and I was truly amazed at how horrible the show was. I didn't think it was possible for for a show to be worse than that crap that Paris Hilton and what's-her-name put out, but this show is the worst show in the history of TV. I'm truly amazed that I was able to even endure 2 minutes of it. And, this show is still going on? Incredible! People who watch this show, who enjoy this show, and those who created it as well as those on it should be sterlized so that they don't reproduce and pass on their stupidity.

I tried my best to watch the show given that they are giving away a car. I also went to the site. If this is what rich people think is living the good life, they must be living on another planet. Apparently the good life has nothing else in it besides narcissism, alcohol and bad acting. This doesn't even resemble a reality show because the "stars" come across as completely phony and shallow, not three dimensional people. Is this what this country is creating? What about all of the yahoos that watched it and actually defend it? All of you need to buy a library of classic novels and gain culture and discernment. Reading--does that qualify as something that is including in the "good life"? The better question is can they read? I admit, I did go to the link to try to win the car anyway. I couldn't bring myself to fill out the form. I know that a higher force would be watching me and seeing me link myself to this type of junk or to profit from it. I couldn't do it. I had to come back here and ask what is wrong with is country if it produces this type of waste and people actually like it. Yall need to get a life.

OMG, Anyone who actually spent time watching this waste of time and enjoyed it is probably young (< 18). This program just shows how stupid the average person is who watches TV (yes, I did watch it, so I fall into the group). This is as bad as the 2.99 text message advertisements that are shown at the same time.

It's a infomercial for Stupid people willing to throw their money away. Notice the commercials that are on at the time of this show on other channels. The typical commercial at this hour are bankruptcy and ambulance chasing lawyers and "The Money Store", where you can get a Paid Day Loan for 40% interest.

There is no hope for the human race!!!! There are too many stupid people with money to piss away.

Alright, I found the contest for the mercedes giveaway on their site, and I looked them up. Apparently all you have to do is register on their site and you can enter every day.

I think the car giveaway is legit, I read the terms on the website and it seems pretty clear to me. It looks like they're giving away the Mercedes first.

About the show, I definitely thought it was different, like it wasn't a reality show. The wikipedia entry says it's scripted; which it seemed like.

I'm curious about where they're going with this.
