Desperate Housewives: Nice She Ain't
(S03E05) Did you notice that there were multiple closeups of people stirring bowls or cups of food in this episode? I love that because this episode was all about stirring things up. Oh, boy. Did I actually say that I liked Nora? Wow. I totally got sucked in. She did some master manipulation this week, eh? She is playing Lynette and Tom like a violin (which may change next week). Boy, could she have made Lynette dance any better than she has in the past few weeks? But seriously? Whether or not Nora is being a totally manipulative bitch, should Lynette really support Tom in his dream of opening a pizza place?I have to say, "Yes." Because there are times in everyone's life when they have tried and tried and tried to march by the drum of the path to the most responsibility, and that doesn't work for everyone. If the pizza place doesn't work out, then he will do something else. Maybe even go back to advertising. But then he will know. He will know that he had a chance to follow his dreams. And that will be something that most of us never get to find out.
Oh my God, what did Mike ever see in Susan? Perhaps, yes, to some people, her antics might seem charming. But holy moly, did they seem anything but extremely grating to anyone? I saw a survey on the ABC Desperate Housewives site: Should Susan move on or should she never give up on Mike? Move on, Baby. There's always (gulp) Ian. And boy, I like Edie better every single time I see this show. I hope she does get Mike-- at least until I find out a reason why she shouldn't have him. Is she evil? Oh wait, let me rephrase: Is she more evil than anyone else on the show?Loved the Bree family. Oh man, no matter what sins Orson has committed, he truly deserves this family. Oh, I loved it so much when Andrew muttered into his dessert that his sister wasn't trying to commit suicide that hard. And, of course, she wasn't. Danielle claims to have gotten her history teacher fired after he breaks up with her. She then sent a tape of their conversation to the guy's wife to ruin his divorce. Bree was awfully proud of that one. I wonder whether Orson thinks he has found heaven or hell?
Can I have a show of hands if you think Gabby actually slept with the guy she claims to have picked up at a bar? Obviously, I don't. I think she slept with John because she has a history with him. I realize that maybe I am being naive, but I don't think Gabby is going to have casual sex just to make Carlos mad. I think she is just going to try to make Carlos think she would do it.
I keep forgetting to talk about Susan's daughter and Edie's nephew-- maybe because they are an inherently forgettable storyline. But I did like the nephew's parting shot about why Iago betrayed Othello. Nicely done.
The big unresolved question I still have this season is about Orson and whether he killed his wife Alma and that woman Monique or not. They found Mike's phone number on the back of Monique's hand. Things are definitely heating up.
