Bravo searches for the next great hairstylist

by Anna Johns, posted Oct 26th 2006 12:03PM
bravo logoFashion? Yes. Models? Sure. Hairstylist? Alrighty then. Bravo has picked up a series with a working title called Top Hair (the previous working title was the equally displeasing Heads Up). The cable network will air eight, one-hour episodes where hairstylists compete to win $100,000. The contestants will be tasked with normal cuts, colors, and wacky stuff-- and they all have to live together in the same house, where I predict that scissors will be used in lieu of a knife during some sort of bitchfest.

Seems weird, right? I think what's missing here is a celebrity. Project Runway has Heidi Klum and America's Next Top Model has uber-crazy Tyra Banks, but who is famous for hair?

Actually, I was giving this a second thought. The judges should be hair stylists, but the host should be someone who is famous for having good hair. Just like Heidi Klum is a model and not a designer.

So who is known for having great hair? I nominate Farrah Fawcett, Cher and Jennifer Aniston.

Dani, Don King is a pretty funny choice though.

Donald Trump should host. Oh the irony.

Perhaps their own hair diva, Jonathan? That would make for some fun TV. They should at least have him as a judge.

Other than him - Vidal Sassoon? Some random stylist to the stars that no one has heard of?

Sounds like big Brother meets Project Runway.

They could bring in Jonathon from the Bravo show Blow Out. He is certainly prima donna enough. Aside from that all I can think of is Paul Mitchell. Just for fun they could have Don King.

VIDAL SASSOON! If you don't look good, we don't look good.

He would be perfect.
