Would you like to see new episodes of Home Movies?

by Adam Finley, posted Oct 29th 2006 2:07PM

home moviesI'll preface this by telling my fellow Home Movies fanatics that right now there's no guarantee this is ever going to happen, but according to an e-mail sent to Landstander, maintainer of the Home Movies Super Site, Shout! Factory, the company that produces the Home Movies DVD sets, wants to commission new episodes of the series for either download or as a straight-to-DVD type thang. The episodes would cost five dollars each. Episodes would run from fifteen to twenty-five minutes, and there would be about eight of them. It seems that at this stage the company is just putting out feelers to see if there would be enough people out there who would buy these episodes to make it a worthwhile endeavor. Home Movies is one of my favorite shows of all time, but it seems to me everyone involved, especially Brendon Small, has already moved on to new horizons. I guess we'll wait and see.

i would like a full coach mcguirk spin off show. i think i'd pay for that. the movies were always kinda blah to me, but that guy is great. i'm glad he's getting more voice work.

coach: "brendan, i looked at a pamphlet last night for the intervention. i did it to fire up the team. Who's got egg on their face now? is it brendan or coach mcguirk? it's coach mcguirk, isn't it?"

I don't even remember how the show ended. How many seasons were there? If it did come back it would be it's 3rd life.

I would LOVE some new HM eps, but I feel like the series ended on the right note. If they DID do new eps, I would definitely buy them.

BTW, Brendon Small is so cool! He's been to San Diego Comic-Con several times, and he's always really nice and gracious. He signed a couple sketches I got of Walter and Perry and Starboy.

ehhh, I would, but I wouldn't really want to pay for it, plus I kind of would like it to still be sponsored by the people at Williams Street. Could just putting them On Demand work? Or do the same as The Brak Show and Perfect Hair Forever by just making new episodes and putting them online at AdultSwim.com? YOU LISTENING ADULT SWIM?!?! YOU COULD HAVE A NEW SERVICE AND MONEY MAKING VENTURE HERE!! A GIANT NEW BLOCK OF NEW TV EPISODES BEING SHOWN ONLINE ONLY AS PART OF ADULT SWIMS TV-ONLINE SERVICE!!

As long as it's the same crew doing the episodes, I would be absolutely in heaven. I miss Home Movies!!!
