Sunday Night Football is a reality show

LostOh, that Parents Television Council is at it again.

They've just released their list of the "cleanest" TV shows, and the winners are...reality shows?!

The "Most Suitable" shows for families and kids are Extreme Makeover, Sunday Night Football, Deal Or No Deal, American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, and American Inventor. The "Least Suitable" shows, the ones that will send your kids straight to hell, are Lost, House, The War at Home, Grey's Anatomy, Prison Break, American Dad, Family Guy, Desperate Housewives, and CSI.

Sunday Night Football is a reality show? And it's so wholesome, with it's brutality on every play, steroid use, greedy players, scanily clad cheerleaders, and ads for hard on meds.

That must mean the evening news is a reality show too, so why aren't those shows on the list, with their real murder and violence?

I happen to like it here in hell, thank you very much.

Incidentally, I have now sat through four entire seasons of high school football against my will (whoo marching band), and consider that something like hell in itself. There are no redeeming qualities to football or reality tv whatsoever.

When did intelligence become such a negative? When you consider the things that go along with football, is it not better that I learn to sin along with wit and cleverness than from that fruitless lunacy?

Wait...wouldn't Deal or No Deal be a form of gambling? And American IDOL is wholesome? How do parents explain Paula?

I absolutely abhor the parents television council. They are a worthless loud-mouthed organization. They never reply to requests for information and they think they speak for everyone. They just need to remove the televisions from their households and shut up.

The first thing I thought when I saw football on the list was how great it must be to explain to your children all the DUIs, drug and sexual abuse charges of all the players, among other things. Talk about wholesome!

All I can see from their program selections is they choose any program that requires absolutely no thinking and introduces no reason for discussion. God forbid they should have to explain life to their children.
