Lauren Graham to produce slate of shows

Lauren GrahamSister is doing it for herself. When Gilmore wraps and the Studio 60 guest spots dry up, Lauren Graham will be able to fall back on her production chops. Graham has unveiled a slate of shows that she'll be executive producing with Warner Brothers Television under the banner of Good Game Entertainment. Good Game Vice-President Kathy Ebel is a college friend of Graham's, and the Warner Brothers' partnership is good so long as Gilmore Girls is on the air.

What's on the Good Game girls slate so far? First up is an international auction house-set dramedy called Objects of Desire. The show, which has been sold to The CW, is an ensemble show that promises a mix of "juicy workplace soap and behind-the-scenes intrigue" as well as a procedural element that follows an art object's history over the course of the show.

Graham and Ebel are also shopping a single-camera comedy called Praying on People that follows a successful stand-up comic who, after a breakdown, returns to the old neighborhood to find God. The show promises a Tyler Perry-style send-up of gospel choirs and churches. The project is the brainchild of Lance Crouther, an Everybody Hates Chris producer and comedian.

The team also has a reality dating show in the works to accompany a broadband play and website in development called Boxers or Briefs. One things is for sure - the smart and sexy Graham isn't slowing down any time soon.

I think this is a good break for Lauren. She deserves the best.

I do think the show will end...but because of the crappy writing this season. It's lost it's spark and wit...too bad. I love the ensemble cast - and I think it could have gone on for awhile, if they had kept it interesting...last year just killed it...and it's dying a slow death w/these horrible writers...

Gilmore Girls is ending, for the love of god end the show! It should have ended years ago! Unless they make everything since Rory's first year at Yale a dream. That would work!

That's a great idea. Antiques Road Show meets CSI

Not that I don't love me some Lauren Graham, but she's not exactly the best judge of what makes a successful show. Before GG, she was "the best thing" in a number of crappy sitcoms and other projects (Conrad Bloom, anyone?). If she can't pick hits for herself to star in, why would anyone believe that she can pick hits for others?

On the other hand, I can't fault the woman for making the most of the production deal she got (apparently as an incentive to resign for additional GG seasons).
