Showtime orders more Weeds

Weeds Doug Nancy CeliaIt's official, Weeds fans! Right when everyone was getting paranoid that Showtime might leave viewers in a lurch, they've given the greenlight for a season three with fifteen new episodes in the works.

The show's recent season finale was the most watched in the series' short history. It was the kind of cliffhanger Lost only wishes it could muster these days. Nancy and Conrad are screwed in the Tarantino, multiple guns pointed at them kind of way. Silas is on the verge of being busted with enough weed in his trunk to keep Snoop Dogg's crew happy for a long time. Shane is halfway to Costa Rica with Andy's loony tunes ex-girlfriend. Doug and Dean are mid-tussle on the Botwin floor, and poor Peter is nowhere good.

Despite all the gunplay and Armenian toughs, season three's biggest bad has to be Celia. She has a position of power now, and she's on the war path. Between the botched escape from her loveless marriage to Nancy's refusal to be her friend, she's an emotional powder keg giving off sparks or, as her daughter might say, "Voldemort."

This show is outstanding and the only one that I watch religiously on any network or cable channel. The ability to pull in a mulit-cultured cast with realistic plots and characters is a must for a show to be unique and real to life.

Writers please keep up the good work and I would very much like to see more from the hispanic maid and Heylia's daughter. Love their wise cracking one-liners particularly with the Muslim character. Hysterical!!

Less of Andy's character, please!! :)

well, for people who lack HBO and download their
episodes of weeds these news are just fantastic,
was in a right state after the finale, and probably
a couple of days after.

The Sophomore season of Weeds was A+. Great to see that the series has been re-upped.

If Showtime keeps this quality up, it will surpass HBO in its top-notch original programming. Dexter and Sleeper Cell are among the best shows on TV.

Yeah I said that last time someone brought this up. The Showtime ad said season 3 coming in 2007, so what was the the problem?

I am glad to hear they increased the episodes. Most SHowtime Shows get less and less. 10, 13, now 15.

Considering that the voiceover on the finale episode said to look forward to more weeds in 2007, was this ever really in doubt?
