Attention all peg-leg and eye-patch enthusiasts: "Pirates" open casting call

Mark BurnettAs Julia reported a few days ago, CBS has indeed picked up Mark Burnett's new pirate-themed reality show and now here's your chance to be on it and do whatever it is that pirates do.

Head on over to CBS.com and download this here application form and you'll be well on your way to being considered for the new reality competition which is set to air next summer. Based on this article from ComingSoon.net, it seems the only requirements are that you're at least 21 years old and have a valid U.S. passport. Sixteen finalists will actually make the cut and head out into the open seas to do, you know, pirate stuff. As seems to standard with reality shows these days, the grand prize will be a million gold coins dollars. Filming begins in March.

How did I miss this? I would definitely have applied for this event, I love pirate history. Did you know that there is a day called "Talk like a Pirate Day". I love the sea and anything based around water, I have a place on a Florida river where pirate ships used to travel, shoals were created in various areas to keep the pirate ships from passing. I am an avid scuba diver and am always looking for and fantasizing about finding unearthed treasures. Scary but true, pirates were very real and still are. Can't wait to see this show.

Well Christmas has come and gone, and Gloria is sitting home all alone with a message to Mark Burnett and Lynne Spillman! I am looking forward to your new show the Pirates Project. As usual I know you both have dome your research and I know your show will be stimulating and challenging. I am looking forward to seeing the Pirates reality show when it hits the sir waves. Just wanted to say I have enjpyed all your survivor shows and am truly devoted.
