Smurfs movie to come out in 3-D

where Smurfette come from and why is she the only girl in a 100 males community, where the baby come from, why Gargamel wants to capture smurfs: everything has a (more or less) coherent explanation.

Have any of you actually watched the show. Maybe it's because I'm younger and I grew up on cartoon network reruns but the smurf babies introduced later in the show were made by Papa Smurf in a like pot. They were test tube babies. He added essenesce that would make them all unquie and then when they were formed they lived in a dormatory setting and actually if I remember correctly one of the kids was a girl named Daisy.

maybe smurfette was a whore. but, more likely, smurfette was the cartoon's equivalent of the virgin mary, just there to act as the mother of the tribe and take care of all the male smurfs. i think smurfs were asexual in general. babies came from the sky or from immaculate conception. either way, i had a couple of smurf posters in my room as a kid. i dig 'em.
