50 Cent slams Oprah's Oreo ways

by Julia Ward, posted Dec 2nd 2006 10:05AM
50 CentHow's this for a hip-hop feud? 50 Cent vs. Oprah. In the January issue of Elle magazine, 50 Cent states that Winfrey "started out with black women's views but has been catering to middle-aged white American women for so long that she's become one herself." The old Oreo accusation - white on the inside, black on the outside.

It's bad enough that 50 has dissed every rapper in the game - Ja Rule, Nas, Fat Joe, Shyne, Jadakiss, D-Block and The Game. Now, he has to go and diss one of the most important black public figures of the past twenty years. I don't see 50 using his fortune to open schools for girls in South Africa or getting America to read Toni Morrison novels. There's a great deal you can take down Oprah for, but questioning the integrity of her "blackness" is ridiculous - particularly when done by a rapper who owes much of his success to industry mentor and white boy Eminem. Seriously, 50, stick to telling us how to party like it's our birthday instead of picking fights with the big O.

I think 50 is a smart dude. He talks a lil too much but he is a real dude. i think he needs to study his opponent before he attacks him though. all in all you cant deny that this nigga is real. he dont care what his opinion might do to his career. he speaks the truth. where other rappers might choke becuz they feel another rapper has more seniority he dont give a fuck. if the niggas a bitch he's a bitch whether he's nas jay-z or anybody else. a real nigga speaks his mind whether he like u or dont.

The comment made by 50 cents about Oprah, is no different than Tom Cruise's judgemental and unqualified comments about Brooke Shields' medication for treatment of post-partum depression.
These are nothing more than personal "OPINIONS". We all have the right to express our opinions, whether a % agree, disagree, or chose not to have an opinion or reaction to comments by others.
Opinions don't have to be backed by observations, statistical data and anaylsis or any such thing, and are often made without complete fairness, the personal perceptions, experiences or the lack thereof, heresay, or less. Whether the person(s) making comments is education-challenged from dropping out, all the way to being a PhD, or any member of any the ethnic groups that make up our "Human Race", no one is any more accurate than the other necessarily, and being 'Dissed by an opinion, do I beleive Oprah feels DISREPECTED?

Ophra caters to her audience. She is 50+ years old. His statements are disrespectful to a woman of her age. The average Black mid-age mother would smack him for saying something like that in public. Baby-boomers as a whole prefer music over Rap. Business is business and the real world is this: Middle-aged women, of any color does not have a ringtone feat. 50 cent, does not have a CD of his in their collection, cares little about his childish ramblings of bling, sex and violence. They want to talk about what matters to them...period. That is a fact of baby-boomers. They are not part of the BET lost generation. 50 cent is young, very young...reminds me of the 8th grade. Childsih ramblings.

This Was A Very Bias Article. It's Hilarious And I Guffaw At The Comments. We Are All Predjudice And Think Our Race Is Better Than The Next. We All Know What Is Considered To Be "White" And "Black" Characteristics So You Know What People Mean By That. It's Called STEREOTYPES. To All The People Who Are Dissing 50 You All Are Being Just Like Him. He Was Only Speaking His Mind And Retaliating For The Things That Oprah Has Said About Rappers. I'm Not Taking Sides Here, But When You Disrespect One Link In Rap, You're Disrespecting Them All. Being An Oreo Can Be A Good Thing. 50 Is Making His Money, Oprah Is Making Hers. Yall Dont Have Anything To Do With It. I Bet None Of U Would Talk About 50 To His Face Like Yall Are Doing Now. That's On Some Real Talk. Yall All Taking Up For Oprah. I Want To Know Though. What Has Oprah Done For You?

50 Cents is a pathetic PUNK, a poster child for ignorance. He wants Oprah to promote his music, he disrespects all women and the black race. Oprah is a 50+ year old woman, why would she be interested in that crap he's spreading.

I'm so tired of his ignorant a$$ type trying to promote so called blackness, his kind has never represented the black families, friends or co-workers, me or my friends know. Every group has some type dumba$$ they wish they didn't "white trash", "black trash" just plain trash with money and some jackass printing their ignorance.

50 cents reeks and every race has an idiot with money who has to speak out and say stupid stuff. Mel Gibson & Michael Richards has promoted race relations(ha!) so add this ignorant a$$ to that bunch and call it day.

The media should attack his statements as they have attacked Mel & Michael R., but if they did they would be giving him more attention which he doesn't need. Put his dumba$$ on IGNORE! What a PUNK MOVE...he's got beef with a 50+ year old woman. PATHETIC!

Quite frankly, no one cares what the uneducated 50 Cent thinks - the guy does not have any credibility and does not even use his real name. Oprah is an accomplished woman with a college degree, and has worked hard to become a respectable leader.

"this guy's the MC Hammer of this generation"

I disagree. For all the stupid things he's done, at least Hammer isn't a douchebag.

How can he criticize Oprah of trying to appeal to white women when he made this statement in ELLE MAGAZINE of all places? Furthermore, why is Elle even talking to him?
