"Mess O' Potomac": Good news... John Bolton is out. Bad news... he's making money with moustache rides. Even more bad news... Donald Rumsfeld has wormed his way back in the news. An old memo has surfaced and it's not fun and it's full of quotation marks. Senior Foreign Policy Analyst John Oliver elaborated on the use of quotes and air-quotes. The sun analogy was beautiful, haha.Oh, that damn Vilsack duck. I start getting sick of you and then you pop up and say something like "MOR-mon". Resident Expert John Hodgman stopped by to explain the correct process of announcing one's candidacy for president. It was hilarious, as usual... and, strangely enough, has sparked in my strange mind the idea of a Hodgman/Coulton ticket for '08.
The night's guest was Nathan Lane, who is the star of numerous movies (including one of my personal favorites, The Birdcage) and currently leading the cast of Butley onstage. Lane always sounds like a fun guy, and this interview was no exception. It wasn't super-exciting, but it was still a pleasant interview. Oh, and I am totally willing take on a ride on Nathan Lane's Bus of Broadway Fun. Musical theatre for everyone! By the way, I've still got presidential pairings on my mind, so how about... Lane/Broderick '08? THINK ABOUT IT.
Jon/Stephen: Stephen Colbert practiced for his American Idol audition. If you were wondering what Jon said about Scrubs, he was talking about this. By the way, Stephen won an award from VH1 's Big in '06 and his acceptance speech was adorable. Check it out. Moment of Zen: The black-and-white video says that the president owns all... so it must be true.
