Wanna work for Rosie?

by Bob Sassone, posted Dec 8th 2006 1:02PM

RosieRosie O'Donnell is looking for help!

Someone sent Gawker an e-mail about openings that The View host has in her production company. There are several positions available:

1. a green but very smart overall assistant with room to grow
2. post cooridinators
3. AP/PM types

The e-mail also says that Rosie's production company "is not a place of employment for the faint hearted. It's intense and serious. But if you have eager, thick-skinned friends..."

Wow, working for Rosie is intense and serious? You'd never guess that from her TV work. She seems to likable and calm and nice that it's hard to believe that working for her would be anything but an all-day party.

If any readers out there apply for the job, let us know how it goes (the e-mail address to apply for the job is x'ed out in the post, but if you somehow get an interview, we'd love to hear how it goes).

Who wouldn't love to work for Rose?! Yes, she's a caring person, and, yes, she's outspoken. In my book that makes her very human. What makes her special, interesting is that she is willing to show that to the world in a very public way. That makes her gutsy. There are people out there who have chose fields that put them in the public eye and then spend most of their time hiding who they are, sugar coating what they think, and apologizing for their beliefs. Rosie does not seem to do that despite the constant barrage of opposition. So, agree or disagree with her opinions, you have to respect the integrity this woman brings to standing up for them. Hell, yeah, I'd like to work for Rosie.

As a single mom Rosie used to be my role model I thought(stupid me) that she was actually a straight single mom raising her kids wonderfully. I shunned all the gay rumors not because of the gay thing but because she was a leader she showed me and all the other single won=men we could do it. We could be happy and have happy, healthy children without needing a partner. BOY was I an idiot now I can take or leave her Id prefer to leave her she really let me down I consider her a fraud.

I would give my right arm to work with/for Rosie. I have always admired her. As the mother of an incredible lesbian daughter, I am thrilled with anyone who can help people understand that gay and lesbian people are no different from anyone else. They want the same things that straight people want and they certainly deserve to be treated with the same respect that straigt people have. My daughter lives with discrimination at her workplace every day and two of her dear friends were actually murdered, (stabbed to death in their beds) simply because they were gay. These things still happen every day and it is sad that more people do not want or are not willing to become informed and tolerant.

I lost my home in Hurricane Wilma and am in desperate need of a job in the Miami area. I could travel to NY if necessary. I would love to share my talents and loyalty to Rosie and she would not be sorry to hire me. I would be a loyal and devoted employee. Rosie, keep up the good work. I hardly ever watched the View before she came and try not to miss an episode now that she is there. She brings laughter and honesty that is refreshing desired to the show. D. Marcia

The difference between Barbara Walters and Rosie is number one: class but main point being Barbara was repeating a conversation she overheard or participated in where as Rosie was making a point using a derogatory comment. The asian language is quite diversified with many dialects and pronunciations. As much as she hoots and hollers about being stereotyped as a "typical gay", she should know better than to stereotype their language the way she did. If you can't stand the heat, then stay out of the kitchen. I used to like Rosie but now she has become so pushy about her lifestyle that I am quite turned off by what she does anymore. The View has never been one of my favorite shows but I did watch it on occassion but since she joined their ranks I never try to watch it. I attempted to give her the benefit of the doubt and tried to watch it a couple times but her attempt to always keep the camera on her just shut me down. I wish all the luck for that program ... I doubt this will be the last time Rosie brings heat to the program. That is the nature of the beast.

sure- i would like to work for the rosie o'dnnell company. I work with a lot of women here so i am sure i can work in her organization too. The pay would have to be good as the insurance. But, i think working for her would be good and some fun. stressful cause it takes a lot to make it all look easy, you know. But I make a great pot of coffee i have been told so I know that is always a plus in any job. (hahaha)
