Yeah, Rosie, we don't want you to host The Price Is Right either

by Bob Sassone, posted Dec 19th 2006 6:41PM

RosieThe View host and not-at-all controversial celeb Rosie O'Donnell wants CBS to know that she's very interested in taking over The Price Is Right when Bob Barker retires. She actually has a clause in her contract that allows her to take another job like hosting the game show on another network, but she says that the CBS doesn't want her.

Um, yeah Rosie. Why would anyone want you to host The Price Is Right? My God, the contestants on the show are irritating enough (that's why it's always good to have the calming hand of Bob Barker there), and you want us to watch you? The scary part is that Rosie says that the fact that CBS doesn't want her to host the show is "sad" because she "has visions for the show." Oh, great, you're not only going to host but you're going to change one of the most successful formats in TV history.

Other people we don't want to host The Price Is Right:

  • Dustin Diamond
  • Paris Hilton
  • Ann Coulter

How about having Rosie O'Donnell replace Tony Kornheiser on Monday Night Football? She'll make the late Howard Cosell look like John Madden by comparison.

This just in: Reported by the Associated Press

Rosie O'Donnell, co-host of ABC's "The View," said on Wednesday's show that Trump's news conference with Conner had annoyed her "on a multitude of levels."

"... Left the first wife, had an affair, left the second wife, had an affair. Had kids both times, but he's the moral compass for 20-year-olds in America," the comedian-actress said to roars of audience laughter. "Donald, sit and spin my friend."

So: in Rosie's little mind - Donald Trump shouldn't tell a 20 year old that underage drink is wrong, because he had affairs and had kids with two different women. By the way, underage drinking IS ILLEGAL.

But, it's okay for her to attack Tom Selleck, an adult, for being a member of the NRA (which is legal). She of course has has never had an "affair", but has had multiple partners out of wedlock (regardless of her being a lesbian).

As a previous poster said, "Rosie is a rude, loud, and most of the time makes a fool of herself."

Sit Rosie. But please don't spin. That much mass and hot air might throw the planet out of orbit.

I agree with the comment about the show being retired with Bob.

If I were retired and watched the show, it would never come on again either in my home if Rosie were the host.

Maybe the reason why the View has higher ratings is because Rosie is a train wreck?

Anyway, like Tom Cruise, I will not be giving her any of my money.

Doesn't matter who hosts the 'Price is Right' after Bob Barker. That person is going to have a tough time, and the ratings are likely to go down. It's 'Lets Make a Deal' all over again.

But I do agree the show needs to be updated. It's as if it's stuck in the late 70s, early 80s decor. Green, yellow and orange? Large flowers? Flashing lights like Vegas? Wall to wall carpeting?

The last new element they added to the show was-- what, the wheel?

Everyone said she was going to ruin The View. Their ratings are up more than 30% since she came on the show.

Rosie should have stayed in a closet that was padlocked and nailed shut.

Isn't Dave Price, the Early Show weatherman, taking over hosting duties? Or is that just a rumor?

"She is outspoken, and cares for many causes."

That's great. Except for one thing.

The Price Is Right is a game show. Not a political debate show. Which has been a problem Rosie has suffered from for quite some time. She doesn't entertain anymore. She preaches and she is incredibly obnoxious when someone doesn't agree with her.

I can just imagine her shouting down some contestant who makes the mistake of telling her he works at a gun store.

Fortunately, CBS heard the sound of the vacuum cleaner sucking away all of that advertising income if Rosie took the helm of an entertaining game show.

The only thing that Rosie would do as a host is segue to how her kids knew the price of this and that or how her kids did this or that. I'm sooooooo sick of hearing about her family everyday on The View. The whole show has become rather self absorbed now that Rosie is on it.
