I do believe that age discrimination is becoming a real problem in today's society.

Joseph Hewitt is the biggest, most ignorant, little opportunist of the week for me. He has the nerve to waste peoples time and money to file a bogus lawsuit that he didn't get picked on the show because of his age? Can it not be that he has a bad personality and the people skills and charisma to succeed on this show? Can it not be that he is not entertaining for viewers to watch? It is obvious by him doing this lawsuit that he is a whiner and a complainer and probably would be the person on the show like Omarosa that would be bitching and whining and making excuses for doing nothing and expecting to get paid for it. Isn't that exactly what he is doing by filing this lawsuit? He thinks he deserves the right to be on the show becuase he's a technology manager with a bachelors degree? I'm not saying that that's not an accomplishment but is it really something that would give him an automatic ticket on the show if he was younger? Contestants on this show have PhD's, own successful businesses, AND are attractive for the TV viewers eyes. Why the hell would we want a middle aged, whining, lazy, opportunist to be on the show when there's plenty of qualified and talented people of all ages that deserve more of a chance then him. This guy is a joke and an idiot and if i saw him on the streets I'd tell him to get a life. If he wins this suit I will be disgusted by America's judicial system.

I love watching American Idol, but I can't understand why they don't allow older people perform and sing. I know lots of older people thats over 28 that can sing really good, and I feel that its unfair not to let older people try out for the NEXT AMERICAN IDOL. I'd like to see more older people get on stage too!!!

The suit isn't really about the Hewett dude not getting in - it's mostly about the fact that no one over 42 stands a chance - Hewett is just the figurehead, it's a class action on behalf of ALL of the folks over 40 who apparently never had a realistic shot and there are thousands of them.

This show is different from all of the other shows because they advertise that a REAL JOB is up for grabs.

Ivanka rejected someone on the Apprentice LA saying that ultimately they are looking for someone who could work at their company and she couldn't see him fitting in at their Chicago construction site.

Age discrimination in the workplace is a big and very real problem in the country - at real businesses; this lawsuit has already done some good because it has brought a lot of attention to the greater problem - it took Donald Trump's name to make anyone pay attention, so on that level, The Donald is to be thanked for helping to put this issue in the minds of the general public.

there is no age discrimination because unlike race, everyone becomes a 40 year old.

TV Casting is a discriminatory area - live with it.

Should black people be suing the producers of Annie because they want a white kid (Boston Legal did it).

How about a fat 49 year old redneck suing the producers of Friends for not getting the role of Joey.

How about a Larry King suing the producers of Pyramid because he didn't have the right look to host the show.

It's an audition for a television show, not a job application. It's a stupid lawsuit. It would have been different if they guy had been applying for a job at Trump's business. Although, "overweight lesbians need not apply" might be a problem for him.

Do you think that it's a coincidence that all of the "best" singers in America are young, a la American Idol? I guess no one over the age of thirtysomething can sing.

The "job" at the end isn't all that real (or at least hasn't been since Bill Ransic). Other than Bill, do you even see any of the other Apprentici or hear about them. They do a brief publicity tour, sit in an office for a year and then are cast aside. It's a $250,000 reality show prize that masquerades as a job.
