For me as a consumer and fan of the show, they worked very well. They gave me something to watch in the lead-up to the new season. I felt that as a core member of the audience, I was given a treat that helped give extra depth to the actual season premiere.

Ron Moore called the production a success while writing on his blog. However, as a labor practice, it ended up not being successful because I believe the network tried not to pay the actors anything extra because the definition of webisode isn't really nailed down. Is it a new program, or is it simply promotional? If it's promotional, do you have to pay the actors and crew as much, or anything at all?

With Lost, I think it's too late to get to the core audience. The Lost Experience last year was kind of like a webisode, but it didn't really seem to catch on.

I would like to see Lost make an endisode.

Were the BSG webisodes really "successful"? Sure, they were popular, but they didn't really help boost ratings. They definitely did help flesh out some of the story that we didn't get to see, though.
