What to Watch Fri., Jan. 19

by Kelly Woo, posted Jan 19th 2007 10:22AM
Trading Spouses on FoxTrading Spouses: Meet Your New Mommy (9PM, Fox)
The God Warrior is back! Yes, folks, Marguerite Perrin, who infamously melted down last season, returns for another trade. This is the woman who vomited (caused by the "dark side"), screamed that her host family was "ungodly" and declared the show and its money "tainted." Perrin later accepted the cash, of course, and spent it on gastric bypass surgery. Now, she's 94 pounds lighter, but still a warrior.

NOTEWORTHY

Monk (9PM, USA) 5th season winter premiere
Awww ... Monk's got a new friend! Oh ... it's Andy Richter. Nevermind.

Psych (9PM, USA) 2nd season premiere
OK, this guy is not psychic, just really good at observation, but he's trying to make everyone think he's psychic. Capisce?

Festival Dailies (9PM, Sundance)
Hey, we can't all jet to Park City, ogle celebs and watch upcoming indie films. So, catch a daily report on the Sundance channel and wish you were there.

I could have used a reminder that "Hyperdrive" was starting Friday night on BBC-A. Not sure I would have found one here under the old set-up, but at least it was easier and quicker to read.

Our prayers fall upon deaf ears. The TvSquad gods have forsaken us.

i agree. i don't need to be told what to watch. The assumption is that TVS readers are somewhat intelligent, and we can choose on our own, thank you. Please bring back the easy-to-glance-at list of what's on.

I agree that the "new" format is poor compared to the old "What's on Tonight". All we want is an accurate list of what's new, preferably (OK, my preference) sorted by network vs. cable TV channels. It was so great to be able to do a quick scan and set my DVR, then head out on the town. Ack this is terrible.

"Trading Spouses" as the main pick as to what to watch tonight??? That is so symbolic of the problems of this new format for TV picks.

I complained yesterday, I will complain today, and continue to complain until something is done. Stop with the f*ing duplicate posting already:

TVSquadders unite! This is a joke. There are two problems here - duplicating AOL site content and the fact no one likes the new "What To Watch" format compared to the old "What's on Tonight." Well maybe they would like it if you picked quality programs, not Trading f*ing Spouses.

Bob, Adam, Joel, are you guys going to do something or just ignore us? Kelly Woo, whoever you are, care to say something?

Excuse the truncated profanity, but we're all getting really annoyed here.

An entire week of suffering through this. Uggh!

At least having gone to tvguide.com I now know that Numb3rs is a repeat tonight. I would have used your link for local listings, but it goes to AOL, and I won't click there as a matter of principle.

Please stop with the repost of this far worse coverage than when TVS had its own original content. If I wanted to read coverage from another site, I wouldn't look here for it.
