The War At Home coming to DVD

The War at HomeThis may sound like a stupid question, but who wants to buy The War At Home on DVD?

I'm not jumping on the "this shows sucks" and "why is this show still on the air when Arrested Development was canceled!" bandwagon, I'm talking about this: who could sit around and watch episodes of this show more than once? I guess I'm talking about a bigger DVD question here.

There are many shows that I have liked throughout the years, but I just can't picture myself actually buying the DVD sets and watching them in my home again. Examples: Survivor, Law and Order, JAG. The War At Home seems like such a show to me, one that's an OK way to kill a half hour on TV but not one you'd cherish and keep in your home forever on DVD. But maybe it's just me.

Even current shows that I truly love, like Ugly Betty and Jericho. I just can't imagine buying the DVDs and watching the episodes again.

Oh, sorry, back to The War At Home: the show's first season will be released on May 15. The three disc set will contain a gag reel and a featurette.

I'm in with Brody. Luckily I managed to download all the ARCTU episodes in HD! But I'd be more than willing to drop $40 on an HD-DVD set of this show (or $20 for a DVD set even).

This may be the worst show in the history of sitcoms, and I can't believe no one has mentioned this but THE WORST use of 'canned laughter' ever!!!!!

It's crap!!!!!

WHAT. A. WASTE. I am only glad it got booted from Sunday nights. As a Family Guy fan, I was embarrassed to see this show follow FG.

I agree with David. I like Michael Rappaport so when I heard about the show I was excited. Then I saw the first few episodes and couldn't believe it. I can't believe this stays on the air either.

As Ricky Gervais says on Extras...lowest common denominator.

I love this show. My wife and I watch it whenever we can, and even if it's a rerun. So yeah, I might pick it up if it's not too terribly expensive.

Yea, i actually like this show a lot more than i did arrested development (or curb your enthusiasm or the US version of the office, etc.). I grew up watching the old TGIF lineup of family matters, step by step, boy meets world, etc... so a comedy sitcom surrounding a family catches my eye. I think it does a better job portraying an american family than did arrested developent. And only fox would allow some of the dialog to get on air that goes into this show, like derek said.
And it doesn't hurt that Anita Barone and Kaylee Defer are both smokin' hot.

I don't think this is any less of a show than is Two and a Half Men, or Eight Simple Rules (with John Ritter). I watch the show for one liner wit, and simple conflicts... when i want a show a bit more thought provoking, I'll tune into studio 60, house, boston legal, and other 1hour dramedies. But for simple escapism, ill stick to the standard 30 minute family sit-com.

Where else can you see the lead female utter the word "f*ck" and have it practically unbleeped? If nothing else, this is an enhanced reality show.

Plus, Anita Barone is really, really, REALLY hot.
