Ellen DeGeneres stand-up special on Comedy Central in February

ellen degeneresEllen DeGeneres' stand-up special, Ellen DeGeneres: Here and Now, will make its network television premiere on Comedy Central February 4 at 9:30pm.

I give credit to DeGeneres for carving out her own place in the phallocentric world of comedy. She is, in my opinion, one of the best female comedians working today. I'll definitely be Tivoing this special, and hopefully my Tivo will actually record it rather than recording an Amazing Jonathan special like it did when I asked it to record Demetri Martin's latest special. Stupid technology.

One final thing: the title of her new special caused the song "Here and Now" by Luther Vandross to get stuck in my head.

I am looking for a Life-size Ellen DeGeneres Cardboard stand for my Oscar Party. I can't find one anywhere...any suggestions?

I love Ellen, but when is Paula Poundstone going to be on Comedy Central. (Bravo this fall was hilarious!)

I adore Ms. Ellen...I am so PROUD of her coming back so strong after the sit com & Anne Heche debacle...
The first time I watched her show, I knew in my HEART
it would be a huge success!!! YOU GO GIRL!
We need more Ellen's in the world:)

Here and Now is her HBO special that first aired back in June 2003. Comedy Central is just reruning it. Nothing new here.

And "upcoming sitcom for the WB"? Unless we went back in time to when her Here and Now special was new, there is no more WB network. This is a TV news website right? Perhaps you need another cup of coffee this morning...

Random side note: Ellen has always reminded me of my mom.

I'm unsure of how 'new' this special is... I've owned it on DVD for almost three years (my memory might be a little off on that, but not by much) and I'm fairly sure it used to be an HBO special.
