Why Bill Gates left The Daily Show so quickly - VIDEO
After his Well, I was wrong.
Last night on The Daily Show, Jon Stewart showed what really happened. I should've known. Video is after the jump:

After his No nouns with a capital I? Boy, I'm sure George Bush wishes he could get away with that one.

Sources report that Mr. Gates put forth several conditions that Mr. Stewart had to meet before he would agre to go on the air.
1) John Hodgeman would NOT appear in the studio or on set while Mr. Gates was in the building;
2. Steven Colbert would not "call in" while Mr. Gates was on-air;
3) Mr. Stewart could not ask Mr Gates if he used, owned or ever touched an IPOd;
4) When Mr. Gates answered a question regarding how many computers he owned, Mr. Stewart was prohibited from asking if one of them was a Mac.
5) Mr. Steward could not use the words Mac, Apple, IPod, OS X, jobs or any noun that began with Capital "I".
6) Mr. Gates would NOT require use of The Green Room and his security must remain armed and within fifteen feet at all times.
7) studio and building would be "locked" down while Mr. Gates was in the building.
8) crew could not leave Mac's in line of sight of Mr. Gates.
If you doubt the veracity of this report, ponder how funny it would have been had Hodgeman simply done a silent walk-through across the set; if Jon asked about IPOd or Macs; if he had offered him an apple!
Gates takes the fun out of everything.
I thought it was a bit odd, myself, even if it was the way it was supposed to happen. One would expect the director to tell the guest 'You'll sit down, talk with Jon for a few minutes, and then, we'll go to commercial at which point Jon will chat with you for a moment and we'll walk you off the set.'
But, otoh, Bill has never come across as the most social of animals. And I'm speaking as a former employee. =)
Nah...for those saying its a production error or not that unusual, I don't really think that's likely. It's a pretty easy tell of who has actually watched the show before; when Jon interviews people like John McCain (who's been on a lot), or even Neil DeGrasse Tyson, he plugs whtever it is the guest brought on to plug, and then turns around and shakes hands with the guest, and they usually chat for a while as the show goes to commercial. Jon was clearly suprised that Gates left, although I guess it's understandable that he thought it was okay to leave, probably for the reason Anna mentioned...he was probably nervous and/or inexperienced with talkshows.

As for Vista, XP/SP2 is good enough for me. I can think of better ways to spend 200 bux!
Poor guy probably had to take a whiz

It appears that the intended shot was a close-up of the host. Notice when the camera shot changes as Bill is leaving, even Jon is talking to a different camera. The shot should not have been from that angle. It was just a production error ... nothing wrong by Gates. It's all part of the fun and challenge of live TV!
