The Geico caveman has a better apartment than I do

GeicoSeriously. Check out his crib. I'd kill for his kitchen alone.

What exactly does this guy do for work, anyway? I'm trying to remember if they've ever said in the commercials. He's not the official spokesman for Geico in the ads. In fact, in one he gets ticked off that Geico keeps saying "it's so easy even a caveman could do it." In another one he's at the airport and passes a poster with the ad, and in another spot he's talking to his therapist about the ads.

Whatever he does for work, it's quite a nice place. You can see what he listens to on his iPod (I'm addicted to that "Remind Me" song), you can watch commercials, check out the magazines on his nightstand, and even see his bedroom. He talks to you along the way, and what he says changes (enter the door a few times and his greeting with change, depending on whether or not you're late). Make sure you listen to his phone messages!

Dude, there's more than one caveman. The guy at the tv studio is different from the guy in the therapist's office who is different from the two guys in the restaurant. I think there's like 5 or 6 of them in all. There's also an earlier one where 3 are in this swanky apartment and the main guy gets really upset after seeing the commercial. The other is sitting on the couch playing on his laptop and a third is playing the piano in the background. These are all classics, but apparently this Dyton fellow is the only one getting the most exposure.

He used to be a cue card holder at the television studio, but after a bitter threat of going public, he accepted a settlement from Geico with a NDA. Hence the nice apartment.

I totally made that up.

That was a great time-waster! Loved it! The caveman must have a maid - that apartment was spotless.

He's an actor -- if you look at the magazines by the couch, there's an article about him in one of them. His name is Joe Dyton and he's starring in the movie "Smart Casual", coming Spring 2008.

Why shouldn't he have a better apartment? Is it because he is a caveman?

Ha! And now there's a new one where they're at some party and one the cave guys is fussing at the other cave guy for actually using Geico. Like he's a sellout. Funny!

I believe the cavemen (because there have been more than one) work as camermen at a television studio. At least, that's what they were doing when I first saw of of the Geico cavemen commercials.

I absolutely love these commercials. And I particularly love that the cavemen are all articulate and politically aware. I love how they get genuinely hurt when they see/hear the term caveman used to describe "simpleminded person".
