Prison Break: Chicago

prison break haywire
(S02E16) I guess for those of us who assumed Haywire would be the only one to find his way to freedom, maybe we weren't all that far off.

As much as I'm sad to see Haywire gone, it was a fitting end for him. As short as the scene was, it was actually one of the more well done moments of the show so far. We get a sense for how Mahone feels having to always run away while mirroring Haywire's feelings of being caught in a maze like a rat. What worries me now is how quickly they're killing off interesting characters from this show.

Robert Knepper is so good as T-Bag that I dare say sometimes he deserves award recognition. And T-Bag spooning with his woman? She couldn't have slept a wink that night. That was about as creepy as it gets.

What's with Michael and Lincoln so easily deciding they need Kellerman based on what he tells them? "Why do we need you...Oh, a cigar club? Hm, maybe we do need you. Brilliant! Nevermind." I don't think what happened was far off from being that simple ... and short, for that matter.

Sara did show some guts trying to kill Kellerman, and I think that telegraphs what Kellerman's fate will ultimately be. There's no way he's found salvation in the eyes of Mike, Linc and Sara, so unless he gets some protection from elsewhere, he's as good as dead.

Bill Kim is definitely someone to hate. I swear he's wearing lip gloss. His fate isn't far off from Kellerman's -- not by a long shot.

It made a little more sense that Mahone needed Bellick, since he needed someone to crawl around under the radar, as now his every move was plotted through the "proper channels."

T-Bag C-Note playing hero was another high point of the episode, and it makes it even more painful to see how next week's episode is looking.

I thought the decoys jumping off the train was both easy to spot and a huge cop out by the director. They show us, the viewers, a scene with the engineer radioing to the authorities about train jumpers, then later we're shown what really happened. There were other ways they could have handled that scene, so I felt cheated somewhat that they felt they had to do things that way.

Random thought: Where the hell is Mahone's HQ anyway? He's at Fox River, then he's in Arizona, Wisconsin... Who knew Prison Break was a science fiction show, complete with teleporters?

Oh my gosh, I've got to say, why is it so rare that Linc wears a hat or something? I mean, he supposedly killed the President's brother, for God's sake. Get a baseball cap!

Bradley Bellick, FBI. Haha, what a toolbag.

I really enjoyed this episode. Hopefully, though, the Fox River body count will end here (except for T-Bag) -- so far we have said farewell to Abruzzi (the scumbag), Tweener (the snitch), and Haywire (the psycho -- albeit the sweet lovable psycho!).

That leaves the brothers (who need to get their justice), Sucre (Who doesn't want to see him pull off his run for Maricruz?), and C-Note (who's all about his family -- although the preview for next week doesn't look good for him!).

It was nice to see the moment between Michael and Sarah (the unofficial ninth escapee) on the train -- although the look she gave him right before they went into the cigar club (when he said he loved her too) was somewhat strange.

The T-Bag story has also gotten very intriguing with his obsession regarding his "fake family."

And although I really wish they would have raked Bellick over the coals much longer in Fox River before this new turn, the scene with Bellick pretending to be an FBI Agent was hilarious!

I have to say season 2 is finishing on a high and it's more the prison break i loved in season 1. S2 started off pretty poor and unrealistic (even for PB standards), but the last few episodes have been top class, this one was no different.
RIP haywire, a top character and it was perfect the way he went. I also found it hilarious when bellick was trying out all these phrases for his introduction, he is a top actor.
but the guy that would probably get an oscar if he did film is t-bag, the mans a genius and he's better than 90% of the top actors out there.

Mahone said he was gonna get Bellick out quick, that took less than a day or something. i am sad to see Haywire go though. what's gonna happen to larry, the dog?
I think the show needs to slow down a bit they keep coming up with so many plot twists so fast and there's really no time frame. i guess a lil clock on the bottom of the screen could help.

I keep watching this show, and i think it's really out of pure suspense at this point. I'm not emotionally invested anymore, especially since they offed Haywire. Season 1 was great because it was tightly plotted and Michael was in control. Now, Michael's out of control, and you can feel it in the writing, unfocused, wandering blindly, throwing things against the wall to see what sticks. this is the problem with American TV, if it makes money, it gets renewed.
