What if Scrubs was a serious drama? - VIDEO

by Bob Sassone, posted Feb 8th 2007 12:33PM

ScrubsWe've seen The Office as a suspense thriller. Now here's Scrubs edited as a serious drama.

Of course, it doesn't work quite as well, because Scrubs already has a lot of very serious moments. I was watching a repeat of Scrubs a few weeks ago, the episode where the woman dies and they give her organs to other patients and they die too because the docs didn't know the woman had rabies, and my roommate (who doesn't watch the show) said "I thought this show was a comedy?" And I explained that, yeah, it is, but it has a lot of serious, real moments too, and that's one of the reasons I like it. So this video isn't as good as The Office one.

But it's still well done. And they were wise not to include Dr. Kelso in the footage, because just hearing his mean, cutting voice and seeing his scrunched up face would have ruined the whole thing. Video after the jump.

I have to agree with Bartman, if you want to see Scrubs the Drama, just tune in to Grey's Anatomy. After all, JD once said to Elliot of Grey's Anatomy, "its like they are secretly filming our lives and making a TV show out of it."

If you want to know what Scrubs would be like without the funny bits, just re-watch the first episode of the current season.

Ditto. Cheap to include Last Kiss clips.

I have to agree with #1. This clip is not nearly well done enough to get a TV Squad mention.

This clip actually doesn't impress me the slightest. Very weak editing and no story-arch whatsoever. And three clips or so weren't actually from this show but from "The Last Kiss" (starring Zach Braff). Meh...

It starts out slow but picks up the end. Still not as good as The Office one.
