Adding Bauer brother to 24 'too good to resist'
The decision to give 24's Jack Bauer a brother seemed ridiculous at first, the show's executive producer told the Philadelphia Inquirer.
And the notion's absurdity was heightened when producer Howard Gordon suggested to the writing staff that the Bauer brother be the sinister Bluetooth dude who'd been seen in the previous season ordering the president to commit various crimes.
Turning Paul McCrane's character into a Bauer was "probably a crazy, terrible idea," Gordon told the newspaper, however the 24 staff "decided it was too good to resist."
McCrane, aka Graem Bauer, told the newspaper: "I knew I'd only be on for a couple of episodes, so I assumed [Graem would] be killed. On that show, if you're only on for a short time, you're probably going to die."
As for upcoming 24 story lines, Gordon hinted to the Inquirer that viewers will soon be seeing President Charles Logan, who had to resign his office last season, because the current Palmer president will need Logan's help.
