Attack of the giant late night talk show heads

by Bob Sassone, posted Feb 13th 2007 2:43PM

Letterman/Shaffer headsA lot of people would say that being the host of your own TV show, especially one that has your very name in the title, would give you a big ego, a big head. Now we have photographic proof.

A company called Floam has created a couple of giant head replicas of David Letterman and his bandleader sidekick Paul Shaffer. They're on display at Toyfair.

This Floam stuff looks pretty wild and cool. It's "micro beaded modeling fun foam" that comes in blue, yellow, green and fluorescent pink and you can use it on a ton of stuff: make animals with it, decorate skateboards, create masks, and, well, just about anything else you can think of. It's like the 21st century version of Silly Putty.

They would probably make a giant Floamhead of Jay Leno, but I think that's against the law and would scare kids.

I have seen Floam advertised over the TV through mail order for the past several years. The tubs that stuff comes in seem pretty small. It seems like it would take around $200 bucks if not more to make those. I'd use cheese instead.

Geez Kyle, lay off. He's just making an observation. So what if he made a mistake? So what if his musings aren't your cup of tea? If you find it so personally insulting when Bob writes a post, then don't read it. Get an RSS reader, and only subscribe to what you want to read. Do YOU know how to do that? No one's forcing you to do anything. Sounds like you really want Bob's posts around just so you have something to bitch about.

Oh, and another thing, the company is NOT called Floam, but Hands on Toys, and your link is already outdated...it leads to "slashfood", a site with a somewhat intelligent blogger's posts, but not to the Floam post.

Are you familiar with the internet, Bob? Do you know how to form a valid link? Do you know how to read?

Much easier...what DO you know?

At least I've helped pad your pathetic posts/comments ratio. I suppose that's something.

Yo Bob -

Once again you are on the somewhat less than "cutting" edge. :)

Floam has been around since way back in the 20th century (the 80s!!!!), and was marketed as a "Nickelodeon" toy product. It was dropped in the 90s, and then picked up again more recently. Floam is VERY old news. Click and learn, Bob...

I'm eagerly awaiting the day that you blog something about which you actually are knowledgable, as opposed to shows you haven't watched, products about which you have done zero research, etc. But I'm not holding my breath.

Sheesh.
