The Daily Show: February 14, 2007

Jon Stewart"Il or No Il": Hurrah! The US has successfully negotiated a nuclear agreement.

But enough about global current affairs, the 14th was Valentine's Day! Resident Expert (or "Sexual-Pert") John Hodgman stopped by to explain, "Why is love?" and the meaning behind "To fuck like a prairie vole". I swear, I'm going to work that phrase into a conversation some way or another in the next week. Mark my words.

"Must Love Dogma": Jason Jones filed a report about his dating escapades. "I am a conservative, but I also like to date women." It was interesting to get to know Jones' character a little better. Back in the days of Ed Helms, Rob Corddry, Steve Carell, and Stephen Colbert, each of the correspondents had a distinct character and personality. I haven't felt the same about the current correspondents (except maybe John Oliver and Resident Expert John Hodgman). Oh, and... Joe Scarborough. He must have been pissing himself when The Daily Show asked him to make an appearance. He keeps acting like a fanboy on Scarborough Country.

The night's guest was Ishmael Beah, author of A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier. Wow, this was, um, a great interview choice for Valentine's Day. Beah's story was pretty gripping... The whole audience was stone silent throughout the entire thing.

Jon/Stephen: "As always, we check in with our good friend Stephen Colbert..." No, Jon. No. Not "as always". And Stephen wasn't happy about it. Moment of Zen: February 14th is a happy time!
