4 from 24: More on hours eight and nine
We were treated to two -- count 'em -- TWO hours of Jack-tion this week.
*Warning, spoilers*
Morris O'Brian was tortured. President Palmer II welcomed the "good" terrorist into the funky presidential bunker. Jack Bauer's "nephew" (the squinty-eyed whiner that he is) was kidnapped by his grandfather Phillip Bauer.
While we consider whether the "good" terrorist can be trusted or whether the young Josh Bauer will ultimately be harmed by Papa Bauer, here are a few musings from this week's twin episodes:
Quote of note: "Chloe's really starting to screw up . . . I think she's losin' it," Milo Pressman told CTU chief Bill Buchanan after a Chloe O'Brian freak-out over the fate of her ex, Morris, who was in the hands of "bad" terrorist, Abu Fayed. (Chloe was sidelined for about 15 minutes before she scowled her way back in front of a computer terminal.)
Tense moment among White House staffers: Chief of Staff Tom "The Biscuit" Lennox didn't require too much coaxing from slimy political aide Reed Pollock in the presidential bunker's boiler room, in order to join in on a plot to remove President Palmer II from office. We're not clear on exactly how the "removal" will take place.
"Oh my God, you can't possibly be intimating what I think you are," Lennox said to Pollock.
"I'm not intimating anything. I'm just musing," he replied, to which Lennox said, "That kind of musing can get you into prison for treason."
ACLU nightmare moment of the week: Can you say . . . DRILL? This one is a no-brainer.
Quote of note II: "Morris, I know you've been through a lot today, but you're really starting to piss me off," Chloe said to a post-drilled Morris who was ashamed that he'd armed Fayed's suitcase nukes. This was before she slapped Morris, less than an hour after he'd been tortured. She's very sensitive that Chloe.
