Michelle Rodriguez revisits her Lost past

by Erin Martell, posted Feb 19th 2007 1:32PM

Michelle Rodriguez as Ana LuciaMore than one year after her DUI arrest in Hawaii, former Lost cast member Michelle Rodriguez has posted her version of events on her official website. Besides that fact that she won't be winning any spelling bees in the near future, the actress also revealed the following details:

  • Evangeline Lilly had invited her to a viewing of the newest Lost episode in her home; Rodriguez brought some champagne for the occasion.
  • Rodriguez knew she was too drunk to drive home, but felt more comfortable driving to co-star Cynthia Watros' house than staying put.
  • It is implied that she sold her New Jersey home to pay her legal fees.
  • The actress had issues with wearing a bracelet used to detect alcohol content; the bracelet tracked alcohol in her system several times.
  • Rodriguez claims that she was on something called a "cayenne pepper-lemon water cleanse" for an undisclosed reason. Apparently this regimen is a holistic method of fasting used to lose weight by eliminating toxins in the system.

Rodriguez starred as Ana-Lucia Cortez, one of the tail section survivors, on Lost's second season.

That diet sounds crazy! Why would anyone do that to themselves, then drink and drive. That's nuts!

I think it's just a simple case of insecurity and a couple drinks getting the best of someone and making them think that they can drive a 5 minute trip at a slow speed and it be ok. It's very easy for sober uninvolved obervers to look upon it after the fact and judge. In the moment, anyone can make a stupid mistake. She knows she did. That's all that matters, she just wanted to tell the whole story and explain the anklet so people would stop thinking she was trying to mock something when that was not her intention at all. Show some love guys, show some love.

Well, the false reading could be produced if in her 'cleanse' she bought imitation maple syrup instead of real maple. The maple flavoring added to imitation may be suspended in alcohol, as well as any vanilla added to supplement the flavoring.

Rodriguez knew she was too drunk to drive home, but felt safer driving to Watros' place than just crashing at Evangeline Lilly's? Did she have some reason to fear being incapacitated in Lilly's presence? Anyone else want to start a rumor that Evangeline Lilly is a lesbian rapist? No? Maybe it's just me then....

It's not about chemistry it's about technology and how it is falsely reading said chemistry. I don't believe, I know for a fact. It's given her false readings at least 3 times recently, I assure you. Chill, and absorb the truth my friend.

"The fact that her freedom hinges on faulty government equipment was the whole point. It's not right. But that's the good old gov't for ya, lol."

OMG, you BELIEVE her? Wow. That's freaking hysterical. Ask someone who understands chemistry why it's obvious that she's lying.

I think you misunderstood though. The cayenne pepper diet she was saying she was on just very recently and the release of toxins caused faulty readings on her monitor, hence her negativity towards wearing it. The fact that her freedom hinges on faulty government equipment was the whole point. It's not right. But that's the good old gov't for ya, lol.

That "cayenne pepper-lemon water cleanse," which is very popular right now, involves not eating anything for days at a time. Drinking alcohol while you're doing it seems like a bad idea, and driving afterward is just plain crazy.

The one good thing to come out of all these celeb drunk-driving arrests is that ordinary people may realize that driving when you've "only had a little to drink," or are "only going a short distance," is still a horribly stupid thing to do.

I'm betting on Zombie Season. We won't see her in any flashbacks I am willing to bet on that.

What really makes me sick is that you can call sombeody a "not a faggot" on national TV but when you are drinking and driving... ah well. I guess it isn't the same but still.
