Here's that new Simpsons trailer

In case you didn't see the new movie trailer during The Simpsons on Sunday night, here it is on Apple. This is the longest one we've seen yet, clocking in at one whole minute! Of course, not a bit of it makes sense. It's just a series of wacky scenes without any context... but what do you expect? The script for the entire movie was kept under such tight control that 20th Century Fox isn't about to give us an idea of what the plot is. Although, if I were to guess, I'd say it's about Bart searching for a better father figure than Homer.

Release date is July 27.

The animation, while smooth, is still godawful. What an embarrassment.

It was amazing to see Simpsons in HD. Never thought it would be any difference, mainly due to (makes Moe's voice) "in 2D", but I was wrong.

!!!!spoiler alert!!!

It might not be true, but circulated in some sites that in the Xbox Live Network movie downloads, the Simpsons Movie was listed and the summary was that Homer caused a nuclear disaster in Springfield and while the city tried to kill him and find a way to move everybody, Homer made his way to fix the mess. Of course this can be off mark, or just part of the "n" plots that probably will be in the movie.

!!!spoilers end!!!

I didn't want to watch it out of fear of spoilers, but I caved... and let me tell you, watching that trailer in the 1080 HD option was magnificent. I saw the Simpsons in a whole new way, and even though that isn't how the show currently looks, I had a dream that one day, it would look like that (although it would be more work on everyone to produce a show that uses more screen space. Break the 4:3 mold!)
