Prison Break: Wash

(S02E18) Someone commented last week about my Prison Break review, saying it was possibly the shortest review ever on TV Squad. Well, it certainly wasn't the shortest, but I have to wonder what more could have been said?

Seriously, I sometimes ask myself why I tune in every Monday to watch this show. It's just that I feel as though I've invested so much time into this show as it is, and I'm just waiting for the payoff. But will there be a payoff? And when will the end be?

Let's discuss the good and bad points of this episode...

The bad:

- The notion that even a timestamp on a digital recording would be proof of when it was recorded. As if that couldn't be forged as well? Anyway, since they're going a different route with how they're putting it to use, it's not as big of an issue.

- T-Bag just happening to be on the same flight with Bellick. Funny, yeah, but incredibly implausible. Sorry, but this bugged me.

- The arms dealer Not bringing backup when selling an untraceable sniper rifle to Kellerman. Need I say more with this?

- The sloppy europeangoldfinch.net mention and Michael's apparent reaction to C-Note's, er, note. If you look at website, C-Note mentions to Michael that his daughter's sick not once but twice. And how does Michael respond? "Yeah that's too bad. Good luck." What an asshole.

- The fact that I've got nothing really to say about Sucre's side of the story.

The good:

- T-Bag finding his "twin". The way these scenes were shot, I'd have to say the doctor was also played by Robert Knepper, though I admittedly didn't check the credits.

- Keeping us hanging with the recording. Actually this could be bad, too. I mean, that had better be one hell of a recording.

- C-Note and the "package." Obviously he doesn't die, or else we'd have seen some evidence of that in this episode. And the fact that it's so obvious makes this something that could be listed under the bad.

- The use of positive reenforcement on Sucre's cousin by Bellick. Finally something that makes sense!

And where is all the romance and chemistry between Michael and Sara gone? I definitely need more of it... I really do.

I have been disappointed by the new episodes; however, last night was very good. C-Note and Mahone have great chemistry as well as a common interest in the love of the children. C-Note was outstanding with his wife and the hanging was believable. I hope he will be saved.

I loved the round-around with the agent. Also, loved seeing Mr. Kim all bruised up!

What was funny about the run-around they gave the imposter was pretty much the same thing they did to a guy on numb3rs Friday night.

I think I remember the creators saying that Prison Break will likely be a three season thing. I've enjoyed this season, though it's by no means close to being as smart as the first.

I have to agree that this season is getting really dry as it goes on. There doesn't seem to be any long term direction as there was in the beginning (obviously, breaking out of prison is kinda a long term plan). I really, really hope they don't drag this beyond the "Four Episodes Left", because I don't know what else they could do (or kill off). I'll probably be done after this season unless something remarkable grabs me back to the show (and no, them needing to break out of prison a second time does not count).

LOL, oops that would be me who told Keith last week's review was really short. Never thought i'd be called out like that heh.

But yeah this review is also super short but hey i'll take a short review over those long ass recaps/mini reviews that the new bloggers do for Lost and 24.

You still rock Keith. Hopefully someone will happen on the show that'll make you want to write more about it! :P

I wonder who Kellerman is really going to kill. Sure, they want us to think it's the pres, but I doubt it. Then again, she is on another show right now. And this would, once again, throw a wrench in the plans, so, maybe he will go after her.

The fountain scene was ripped from Vanished. I guess all the Fox dramas had a bit of Deja Vu going on last night.

C-Note looked pretty dead-bound to me. Even if somone did see him, they'd have to get the gate open to assist. I doubt it. Loved the scene with his wife, very touching.

So looking forward to next week's episode. The previews look great.

This episode was exciting! The train is back on track! It was well-paced and all of the subplots moved along well. Sucre is reunited with Maricruz and hiding out in Mexico (until Bellick catches up with them). Bellick is on the same flight as T-Bag (what will that lead to?) Kellerman is getting ready to take a shot (literally) at the President. Mike and Linc finally have someone other than those in their inner circle who believe their innocence. And poor C-Note: the choice he is forced to make by Mahone!!! As a cliffhanger, it rocked. Maybe he will survive though...

To me, Prison Break is at the top of its game. Obviously, the excitement of the prison break planning is long gone, but I think the writers have done an admirable job of moving the story along into the fugitive phase.

Oh, and as for wondering when the end is going to come: What? Are you anxious to see Prison Break end? Do you want to see it go off the air? Supposedly the writers have a plan for keeping this show going at least through four years. Considering we are heading into the end of year two (and ratings are still pretty good), don't count on an "end" anytime soon. Just enjoy it while there's more!
